TJ's Na-Na :

TJ came in Wednesday morning and said..."Happy 49th
Birthday, Na-Na"....... Nope, I didn't correct him...........

Happy late Birthday!

And, I of course, know you are 39!

TJ's Na-Na :

Forgot who was talking about clipping feathers around
the vents on cochins......don't ! Is why there aren't
more porcupines. "Pull" some feathers around the vents.

I'm glad you said that! I'm going to get mine ready for breeding soon, and I thought Bill said to pull them... but I wasn't sure.

I hope your first show of the year goes great! We will be waiting to hear Kendra and TJ's results!

Wonder if crackles are the same thing as "blackbirds"? There is a nursury rhyme about "four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie, when the pie was opened the birds began to sing, now wasn't that a dainty dish to set before the king"?

think I would not have cared for recipes that included live birds

When my mother turned 80, my youngest son insisted she couldn't possibly be that old - that she was only 65. She was so pleased by his sincerity that she sent him $5

Are you ready for freezing temps for another week. I don't know about where you live but in Claremore it is not supposed to be above freezing for the next week. Possible 1 inch snow tonight. Heck what's one more. LOL

Anyway...this is the day my DH and I are making hanging feeders and water warmers....that's the plan and I'm sticking to it. LOL I'm sick of breaking ice and filling the feed bucket everyday. Gonna get fancy and make me some of them there homemade feeders. LOL

Sounds kind of stupid to wait until we have 10 inches of snow on the ground and another one on the way but we really have not been able to do it before now. But by golly come snow or sleet I'm making them today. I've had a hard time finding all of the stuff for making them. I've had to look all over the place to get enough light fixture stuff...even went to junk stores to buy used lamps to remove the hardware and couldn't find them. Anyway...wish us luck since Dumb and Dumber are going to be making these. LOL

Marybeth....do you really like having your pyranese dog? Does he stay at home. I've often thought of getting one but I've heard that they are bad about roaming. Where we are moving we will live along hwy. 66 and I watched too many of my animals get run over as a kid growing up on that road. We're several football fields lengths from the road but however, I don't want to go through that.

Have a great day everyone.

Al...do you have any special advice on building these feeders and warmers? I couldn't find a huge funnel for the 5 gallon feeder that I need to make so will a med. one about 10 in. across work ok? Give me all the pointers that you've got cause we are going to be making this stuff all day if necessry.

Marybeth...I love it when people think I'm younger than I am. I tell my husband that's why I stay so fat to stretch the wrinkles out! LOL I went to a Christmas ornament exchange brunch with our youngest daughter last month at her church. Several people asked her if I was her sister. Man, is that a Knee slapper!!!LOL

She didn't think it was so funny since I'm 53 and she's 31.

My oldest daughter has had to endure that through the years but this is the first time it has happened to our youngest. My oldest said I'd better enjoy it cause if by some miracle I get this weight off that AIN'T happening anymore....

Donna : if all you have are the med ones yes that would be fine till you run across some large ones, Drill at least 6-8 2" holes as close to the bottom as you can, and make sure your feed pan is deep and secure it well to the pan. Hang them from the handles if you like but with mine they work well just sitting on a cinder block at the right height. Feed pellets they work better in these feeders.
