Well went and got the wood cut. Then the guy quit...I was like what's up...he said the saw went bad...lol.....whatever... It was cold and winmdy...but I love that....Coulda cut all day.....I need to get a trailer and a couple saws...but got a nice medium truckload... Been trying to call hubby all day to see where he wants to stack it. He usually wants it the next town over because of snakes....I'm sticking it closer to the house. They are threatening us with ice and snow on Wed...so if I lose power I got half a chance of staying warm. Taking mom to the docs tomorrow...again. She's holding up pretty good....

Teach!!!

and Gerald (AKA the Egg Man) is...well really nice. They are great people from what I could tell in my guided tour. Sorry Gerald, couldn't resist, but you know the women folk are always much better looking than the guys.

Carla is gorgeous!!! And sweet to boot!!!! Did I ever tell ya the story about her silkie eggs? At Cement once, me and this lady got into a bidding war over a dozen of Carla's SQ silkie eggs. I got up to like 16.00 bucks and bailed out.... (Hubby was having a nosebleed...but who cares.) Then I went to Blanchard and a dozen them went for 1.50... I didn't have a bid number.... (This time I was having the nosebleed!) I will never go to an auction and not get a bid number again!!! AARRRGGHHH!!!

Well the consensus is that I lucked out... after a good look and several dozen pictures (of which I posted 3 or 4 to the MFC thread), looks like Avalanche is a LIGHT BOY (I originally thought he was a she). I am *overjoyed* at having another light MFC boy... most of the MFC cockerels/roos are *wwwaaaayyyy* too dark for the breeding program. Looks like HE is gonna make me happy

Now I just need another pullet or two for him (since I already have 2 cockerels and only 4 pullets), and we'll be raring to go with the breeding program in the spring! W000000T!

Yep, she's my girl

She asked for a haircut this weekend because soccer season starts again in a month and it was getting in her face. She's great with the chickens, loves them to pieces (although she is MORE than willing for me to be the one to wander outside and break the ice twice a day

) and is very gentle with them.
