I'll be getting some from Split Socket 222, if he has any left. If not, I'll have to wait until he has more available.

Sorry about your boy's loss.

HenneyPenney, My condolences, I got the same responce last night when I aked my wife if we might take some of the tax refund and buy me a cabinet incubator,

Thanks Cuban...we do have 1 trio and two hens...so we will be swaping the roo around but would prefer another color roo...if the birds get their groove on we might have some babies available...we have hatched one so far!

Hey! I'm an OKC girl currently living in Louisville, KY. My family is still in OK though and I go back pretty frequently.

I just made my first chicken order, and I'm completely excited about it.

Just thought I'd say hi!

HOWDY!!!

Okay, I have a questions, and a problem. I got NPIP certified. I am selling chicks to feed stores, figured it was only right to ensure a pullorum/typhus free flock. Here's the problem. In order to be true to the forms I signed, I am not able to go to a swap meet and buy chickens from other folks that are not NPIP certified.

Here's the question, would anyone be interested in a NPIP auction where all the birds came from certified farms and no untested birds were allowed on the place? Just an idea.

Because of the biosecurity issues, we would have to be very cautious, but if it were possible, is it even something you guys would like to have.

I have Black Australorps, Partridge Cochins and Golden Laced Polish on their way as of next Monday. I really, really, REALLY want a couple of Silver Laced Wyandottes to add to the flock, but I didn't add them on my original order and now it would delay the shipment by at least a week. I'm so torn... what to do? There's actually a guy in Kentucky that breeds the SLWs though, so I e-mailed him about just picking some up. We'll see what happens with that. I ordered from Ideal, and they apparently use baby roos as packing material on small orders, and if any of them are interesting, I may try to keep one or two around. I am trying to figure out a way to keep roosters from crowing, other than keeping them completely in the dark or operating on their necks. I'm not really super-squeamish, but that seems a little unnecessary and cruel. I'd rather just kill and eat them if it comes down to all that. Any thoughts?

Indians are a fancy bird...no flying for them...in fact most of mine are so lazy they nest on the ground...The only birds I currently have that would return home and have a fighting chance away from the coop are the rollers...something about feathers on the feat not making you particular aerodynamic

mhaines - not until my flock gets certified and even then...can't you test incoming birds before you mix them into your flock?

What is this, over 10 pages in a day!

I'll start a more official list later on with who is bringing items to raffle, and where we think the money should go

Okie,

I just live around an hour south of you (in Durant). I too raise Blue Ameraucanas, Silkies, and MF d'Uccles. I would be very interested in trading birds or eggs this spring, to get new blood
