Give me an idea of what kind of cage is appropriate for selling birds at Chupps. I have a few wire bird cages, but nothing I would want to get rid of right now. Since the cage goes with the bird, are the prices pretty high? What's the average price for a 6 month old pullet, for example?

BTW, Feed isnt the only thing Im after at atwoods.... Doc just thinks it is.... They had Barred cochins at Atwoods this last week... hope they still do...

Some people will just put their birds in a card board box and zip tie some type of wire to the top of the box. And some people will also take a piece of wire and pretty much wrap the chicken up and close the wire up. As far as the prices it is like anywhere else it all depends on the weather, what you wanting to buy or sell, etc....

Hey all! The ugly white stuff has messed up my day.

Woke up this morning and the snow had collected on my netting on my run outside my chicken house. I have been wiring and repairing all morning. I hope this is the last of the snow for a long while.

Q - Thanks for the info. Lightweight, disposable is okay, just something to let people see the chicken and carry it home in. Got it.

Queen Peaches - - Did you say earlier that you are going to Chupps? I'd like to meet you. Because we live so far north, I don't get to take part in the auction action south of OKC. I really, really want to go to Fletcher. Maybe after DH buys a truck it'll make sense to invest the drive time. It's hard to attend an auction in a car and expect to bring much home.

Here are a few pictures of Spring Break, the vacation time for chicks and buds to get a tan.

Q - I just looked at the Chupps website. Amazing! The auction must be enormous. Let's get a group to go on April 3rd. I see that they take a 20% commission in chickens. Do the cages sell with the chickens? How early do you need to check your birds in for the sale if the animal part of the auction starts at 8:30 a.m.?

I'm going. Sooner??? You want to go with me?

I am going to try to go, got a tenitive yes from DH to tag along with me. You are more than welcome to come with us & if he backs out it will be just you & me.

Nothing great for dinner here just some homemade potato soup, don't think a picture will do it justice.

I started cleaning today but after one bathroom I got distracted & went out to feed. Madison was already out that playing, so I played too.
