Can someone who has been to Chupps tell me what to expect on the third? I need information on parking, how to check in my chickens, how to know what's being auctioned where (It's hugh, so I'm assuming some auctions take place at the same time), when/how to get purchases to my vehicle, when/how to check out.

She has a color for every finger.

(Don't go there)

I bet she could get all of those colors on one "special" finger.

( had to go there, it's in my job description)

WE have never been to a P.O.O.P.S. But this one will be our first, and we want to have a GREAT time. I am willing to help in anyway I can. I am experience in everything from Cooking, cleaning to Writing clerking tickets to Cashiering. I have even been working on my auctioneering skills. So If I am needed, JUST HOLLER!

As to the organization thing, it doesn't matter. Having attended all of 30 minutes of one POOPS and no involvement in any planning or work, I have zero invested in the whole thing so it is none of my business. Just a suggestion based on second hand information and personal experience. No skin off my nose, as they say.

Hope everybody has fun.

For those of you who feed Purina feed, Tractor Supply started a sale today that runs through April 5 and their 50 lb bag of Chick Starter is $12.99 and the Purina Lay pellets/crumbles are $11.99 per 50 lb bag. They also have their store brand, DuMor on sale and a 50 lb bag of 16% layer crumbles/pellets is $11.19 and a 50 lb bag of 15% all flock grower is $12.09.
I just called in an order for their Purina rabbit chow (also on sale) and some poultry feed and Hubby is on his way to Moore in the truck, to pick it up.

Hey Buster, how are ya today?

Poco...Your right, Chupps is huge. If you have animals for sale, when you pull into their entrance, drive to the right and circle the pole barn. There will most likely be a line of vehicles there already. Stay in your vehicle until you get to the end of the barn and they will unload for you. After you are unloaded and your cages lined up in the barn, pull out and park your vehicle. You might have to go aways to find a spot.

In the barn there will be two guys going in line signing the animals in. This sometimes takes a while. Stay close to your cages and wait for them to get to you. If you have someone with you, one of you need to go to the office, which is across the drive at the back of the barn. Get in line, to get your auction number card. You will need to show them your drivers license.

Everything in the field starts selling at 8:00. There will be about 5 or 6 auction crews going at same time. If you win the bid, just show them your card. You can load items to your vehicle anytime after you win the bid and they have taken your number. Same with the animal sale.

Poultry sale starts at 8:30. Auctioneer will go up and down the rows in a golf cart. When you are ready to leave, go back to the office. There will be a buyers line for anyone that purchased anything and want to pay out. There will be a sellers line for sellers to receive their check. Just a reminder, because this happens more than you think. Write down the price your animals brought and make sure your payout is right.

When you are driving out a security guard will look at your ticket and might look at what you bought. It doesn't take long. Hope this helps.

well...we are taking pictures for some sort of silliness...so I lost my student again...okay he is back. I had to explain something to him. We are making predictions on depth of penetration of various types of ammo into ballistics gelatin. Yup...using my classroom to get better informed about how effective I can be defending my flock!
