Good morning

This morning I am going to NPIP test some hens I got at the Alex auction a few weeks ago so that I can let them out of quarantine. They are laying eggs, so I will be glad to have them join the laying flock.

Good morning All. Have a question. My silkies are hatching Ive got most of them in the brooder but one of them cant stand. Just lays flat. Been like that for two days I take it out and stroke its back I dont think it can stand dont think its leggs work. and dont move around. Should I just wait and see or go head and cull it?

before you cull, try giving him some polyvisol vitamins without iron, its liquid vitamins for babies, a couple drops on his beak a day, silkies are prone to vitamin deficiencies, it may be a case where he needs a little boost- is he eating?

I had a couple that couldn't stand, it lasted about a week then they were fine. I would dip there beak for food & water & stand them up everyday as often as I could while supporting them.

Be careful to put little pepples or marbles in the water dish so they don't flop into it & drowned

Morning everyone,

Its the start of Baking season at my house

Yea its smelling up the house now and makes me long for fall.. but alas must endure this hot summer weather...

Figured breads and muffins were good to go today since our garden is bursting with Zucchini faster than we can pan fry it and I love it when our local grocery store has .99 cent banana bags.. those are perfect for making the banana's otherwise if I buy them green and just yellow they get ate up... Blueberries well I am bored and figured might as well make something with them too.. HA HA

Now the chickens are enjoying the Zucchini ends that we cut off... so everyone benefits...

Robin, i have one you can have. He's real sweet with the ladies, but bullies any competition. I have no use for him, so he's destined to go. He's lemon blue colored, with slight barring in his saddles & hackles. He's a little over a year old now, so he's not going to be hormonal.

Here are some pics of the roo-
