The label rouge is like Champagne, it is a trademark that can only be used if the bird originated from a specific region of France. All the rest are just fat and tasty NNs. Well legally speaking that is.

Even though they devolop more slowly the feed conversion rate for a NN is superior to any production bird while in either extreme heat or cold, like our climate here. I'm really tired of the soft and tastless birds that are bought today and I am thinking of ordering some poultry from them to pasture out. Next spring I will plant a mix of grasses, wheat, rye and millet and see how they do.

Great pic of the nn hen NN! And I really like those at sand poultry. I put them in my favorites and may have to try them next spring. When i get out on my farm I will be able to have the standards and I'm sure there will be an abundance of nns!

Sooner are you haveing an all metal(roof-sideing) house built?

Bob is certainly a fixture at Mary's swap meet and at the Prague exotic animal auction each month. He doesn't say much, but he certainly knows his birds and rabbits.

I am just "getting around" so that I can finish feeding and watering this morning, before heading to the office. Looks like my long sleeved shirt will feel good in this 62 degree weather.
Everyone - have a blessed day and stay safe.

I prefer to feed when I get home in the evenings, Just don't have the motovation in the early morning, also my girls tend to lay around 3-5:00 pm.
