I get dibs on huggin' City!!! Need me to haul anything to or from your folks?

I don't think there is a need for Panhandle Express Deliveries at the moment - thanks for asking Teach!

I've been scooting the heat lamp a little further away each will and figure I'll remove it altogether in another week or two. They will be going into a flock of young roos (about 10 weeks old now RIR), depending on how long I wait they may be on their own with just my banty cochin roo.

I don't remembe for sure (maybe Barnswallow?) who is looking for guard dogs. There's an ad on Tulsa's Craigslist today for two young male great pyranees born this spring, good with goats, chickens, and horses, for $50 each. They are located in Bristow. Of course, no idea if they are reputable or not. If interested, pm me and I'll give you the phone number.

In our back hallway. It stays between 66 and 68 degrees there.

Edited to say 66 and 68 in the hallway. We are at about 88 in the brooder now.

How many redc walls do you have now?

Heya freeze - If it were me, I would keep the little chicks inside until they have their adult feathers - about 8 weeks old. Putting new little ones in with an established flock of bigger ones sometimes doesn't work out so well in my experience. The bigger birds can be merciless to the smaller ones. You might consider adding a wire barrier of some sort in your pen so the two flocks can see each other but not get together until they are used to each other.

Sounds like you are working it the right way. Just make sure you get them use to the cold temp before sticking them outside & it sounds like you already know that.

I only have the laundry room & DD's room left to do. Didn't get any painting done last night since DH was running all the lines (water/sewer/propane) & had some trouble with the sewer line. Instead I moved every piece of furniture in my living room only to put it back & decide we just wouldn't put up a Christmas tree because it won't fit with everything else. The kids were okay with it so I figure I will find a table top one & if by chance we make it into the new house I will set it up there.
