Some of the hard core folks couldn't get enough at the show so they trekked on over to Blanchard tonight for the auction.
I know Teach, the boys and his buddy Bob were heading that way as well as Al, Mueskey and I think some others.
I am getting ready to head to Jared's BB game but I doubt I would have gone to the auction even if there wasn't a game.
Did I mention that my legs hurt.

The people at the show today that I saw and a few I didn't.

Sounds like a great time was had by all! Can't wait to see pics of those Britt orpingtons Donnie. I have seen them in magazines but never in person.
Rain here all afternoon and still comming down, but supposed to change to snow around midnight with at least 2 inches accumulating by monday morning! Thats enough to shut everything(except my wife!

) down around here. There are no gravel roads hereso when its snowy or icy it gets slick and these people can't drive on it. Can't wait til tomorrow to get to know the new pup.
When we got home a parlor roller was sitting in the doorway! Ifigured he got out and the neighbor brought him home. When I took him back to the pen the door was hanging by one hinge and the other birds were gone, just a mess of feathers. I guess the hawk attacked till he tore the door up and got them.

Waiting patiently for more show pics.

Grace - The ducks are snuggled soundly in their barn enclosure. They're lovely. Thank you so much. Boy did they talk up a storm after I picked them up from Donnie. It's odd, but every time I adjusted the rear-view mirror to look at them during the drive, they stopped talking and sat down. Up goes the mirror, and back to standing and chatting. I need a duck translator. I think they were talking about me.

Donnie - Your new birds are gorgeous. Post some pictures soon so everyone can see them.

FreezyFarm - Wyandottes are among my favorite breeds. They tame easily and enjoy the company of people. Your girls love a little hot cereal with scrambled egg mixed in, especially on cold mornings.

Lynn - I hope that red quill does well for you. She gave me the stink eye when I put her into the travel cage. She ate a little chopped apple on the ride to meet Donnie, but her face told me she was eating it because she was hungry, not because she liked it. She reminds me of a lot of my students. Her friend, the Penny Hatch, is giving me an egg very day, so maybe you'll see eggs from your RQ soon.

Everyone who went to the show needs to post pictures and tell stories. Those of us who had to stay behind are hankerin for a Shawnee fix.

thanks coral , but dont forget , you will be getting some and i plan to have chicks from these birds for poops too , just so i can share with the rest of you all too

Donnie were there other col,ors of these "Britt" birds there also? Do you think the size will be a breeding problem?I acn imaginine everyone will be interested even in the extra roos that always come out to use in up sizeing their American buffs!Good investment on your part! Trying to help ease the worries that always follow buying "big" priced birds! lol. I'm sure they will pay for their investment tho seriously. Besides these what was the most astonishing birds you saw?

They are sweethearts. When we tucked them in, one was already sitting in the nest and they don't seem to mind petting. I forgot if you said they were already laying. If I have an egg in the morning, she will be my favorite for sure! I have some left over baby cereal, may heat up some of that and see if they like it.

Well today was awesome! Was great to get to meet and see so many of you!

Grace, I looked all over for ya, didn't get to see you! Any chance you know who K&K bantams is? They had a great bantam Langshan pullet that I had my eye on.

I was bad today...VERY bad...

I purchased 4 white Langshans for $35 and was gifted the rest because the owner purchased too many birds to take the Langshans with him!

So..all in all, got 7 Langshans, 2 cockerels 5 pullets for $35. AWESOME. Don't know how I'm going to fit 12 birds into my Aveo...

Anyone know what time they are announcing the winners? I had thought they wouldn't be releasing birds until 1PM tomorrow, but have heard they're gonna announce the winners at 7AM and release?

Gonna try and go early to get some last minutes photos. Got to see lots of good friends and Forrest...that was a true blessing. Great to see him out walking around in his element.
