Howdy, Well I've been talkin to the KOA folks today so I will try and share what I know and answer folks questions. If possible, I would rather discuss it here so I can let everyone know at once.
I do appreciate the pm's because I didn't think about a lot of the stuff some folks have mentioned.
So here is some updated info.
Clubhouse. We have nine camping spots so it will cost us $25, which has been paid.
If anyone else rents a spot, let me know ASAP.

There is a large coffee pot in the clubhouse. They are also providing two bags of ice.

Na Na had asked me about cleaning stuff. We will need to sweep and wipe stuff down but nothing major. I think she is bringing some cleaning stuff.

Weather: Things have changed since last night. No rain in the forecast for Saturday but bringing something to cover your birds wouldn't hurt. As for chicks, I don't know if we will be able to keep them in the building or not so plan to have a spot for them.
Al said with all of the gypsy dancing girls there won't be room in his cabin for any more chicks.

This is for Al

He has gone above and beyond in getting all of the equipment
and meat ready. Give him a hug and/or pat on the back.
Thanks to Tina for tracking everything and to everyone else who is bringing stuff and making this thing work out.

I find it amazing that the guy bringing most of the wood is from a place where there isn't any and he is coming the farthest. plus wood has spiders on it.

I am taking enough wood over to get Al started.

Three areas of small concern.

1. I don't think we will have access to the building on Sunday morn for a service but we will see.

2. Currently, Oklahoma County is under a burn ban. That means no campfires.
somad.gif

It could change and if it does, i will let you know.

3. Some of you have expressed concerns about auctions. There are two in the area on that Saturday. Jones is 12 miles away and starts bidding at 5 pm.
Blanchard is about 45 miles. It starts at 3 pm.
I know that some of the folks coming may not have access to regular auctions, so if you want to go to one that is fine, but remember, the more time at an auction means less time at POOPS.
On the bright side, the more folks that go to auctions means the more food left for me. So I am kinda torn here.

OK please express your thoughts and pose any questions or concerns you may have.

Yep, and the Blanchard auction will start at 3 pm, and it's about 30 miles away.

I'm trying to decide if we'll even go to an auction Saturday evening, since so many people will be attending POOPS. Hmmm ... decisions, decisions!

Carla :

I guess you haven't heard, we will employ a covert operative at POOPS to let the air out of the tires of all those who plan to abandon POOPS for the auction LOL. Besides you & Gerald are starring in the skit later that night.

AL

Dang it now..............that was my plan when Don said he would have to leave dang it. Skit what skit..............oh that skit ok WOW

Oh Teach you are my hero!!
1. I get MGB's
2. You are bringing wood from a place that don't have wood! AAWWW!!

I would really like to go to an auction while we are down there because poultry auctions just don't exsist in these parts. Hubby by 5 o'clock might be over peoplefied, he is not the social butterflies that my son and I are.
lol.png
But that don't mean we wouldn't be back to eat supper, that our favorite sport.......eatin'.

I need to call KOA today, we rented a Kabin and it said to bring your own linens. Does anyone know what size beds?

My bringing to POOPS list:

A pair of Bantam black Rosecombs (Grace has the first option on them)
Bantam Light Brown Leghorn Chicks ( Teach gets what he wants first cuz' cuz he is bringing me MGBs
bun.gif
)
Bantam Black Wyandotte chicks
Bantam cochin chicks
6 pullets of mixed farm heritage
1 bantam partridge cochin roo.

I will devil eggs Saturday morning while the guys are doing there thing.
Al, was you still going to bring some eggs? With out thinking about upcoming Poops hubby sold 20 dozen eggs so I don't have a whole bunch to bring. BUT I can bring all the fixin's that go in them.

TJ's NaNa is going to help!!

What kind of stuff do we have going on for the youngn's
We can bring a wiffle ball set, that should tear up to much stuff.
Shaun is working on refurbishing wooden boxes in to show boxes so he may work on that.
We could bring a football, but i am afraid the BIG boys would take it away from the little ones.
tongue2.gif

And Shaun has one of those Nintendo DS things.

I'll bring some eggs to add to the pot for deviled eggs...I've got about 3 dozen I think. I still don't know what I'm going to make and bring for side dishes...sigh. I'm such a procrastinator.

No campfires?! That's just not fair....especially to those of us roughing it in tents! Did they count in the reservation for a tent site? I need to call them and ask if it would be a problem to bring a puppy if she is on a leash since I said I didn't have any pets I was bringing. If my husband ends up getting to come, we'll have to bring Gracie with us.

My youngest daughter, Meghan is so upset that she can't come. She told me last night that she'd rather come to POOPS than to go on her girl scout trip to the NASA Space station to sleep over! Imagine that! I told her she would regret not going to Houston and we'd go camping again real soon....so just so ya'll know, ya'll ranked higher than NASA in her eyes.

My other three duck eggs did not hatch! What's up with that? I'm taking em out and sanitizing the bator today so I can set my new batch of chicken eggs....I got 3 dozen to set from OKIEHEN yesterday!! I'm so psyched! 1.5 dozen welsummers and 1.5 dozen blue andulasian (I'll figure out how to spell that right someday). My two ducklings are doing great and making a horrible mess of their brooder everyday!

I need to get organized and get stuff together for POOPS early this week, so that I can just take off with the family as soon as I get off of work on Friday!

Hey Stimp... You had me on that one. On the 5-lb and 10-lb bags, I was thinking " I can do that, that's easy". Then when you said 100-lb in each hand, I was "Dang this guy is TOUGH". I was feeling like a real wuss. That was funny.

Teach, I got the pic for you already so you don't have to download it tonight. If you looking for a home for any of that 'cooking' wood after the weekend just run it on out cause I sure can't find any here!

Sounds like people are getting a little excited about POOPS. It is suppose to be in the 90's here today and most of the week. I built mom-in-law a new chicken Sat and got my first fry of the year. I ran out of daylight before project though and finished my new brooder in the AM. Hope everyone has a great week.

I ain't going to NV...there is crazy people there and UFO's and I ain't going!

I am bringing some of the best traveled wood...some from south Texas...some from North Texas

I am bringing enough wood for some trading! Stimp wanted some and a few others...I am sure we will have plenty...might throw some more mesquite on!

I'm sorry folks, I won't be able to attend POOPS.

Hubs just realized that it is the end of April...which means the Ren Faire is next month. And it is kinda our thing to go to the Ren Faire and have some fun. So in the interest of spousal harmony I will have to use my POOPS funds for Ren Faire fun.
