Well.......
I am always "bothered" by how many chicks are hatched this time of year to be a play-thing in a child's Easter basket.
So, this year I decided to put up an add locally that read "Unwanted Easter Chicks? Now that the holiday is over, if you no longer want that Easter chick I will give it a good home!

But then I decided that I should add in the fact that I would also take in unwanted Ducklings or Rabbits.
Today I finally got a response that made it all worth while. A lady calls and says "A friend gave my kids baby ducks for Easter, but we just don't know what to do with them. They are living in a laundry basket and eating bread crust. I felt so guilty for making them live this way, but we did not really want them to begin with. When I saw your sign, it was a God-send. Thank you so much!"
So, at 8:30 tomorrow morning, I will be back into waterfowl (

).... And I've never been so happy

I gotta tell you. For my first confession, I was hoping for a little bit more than that. But having met you, I can believe that you would have no more than that to confess.

Now, where is the chick with the tassels? I'll bet she's got a confession that will make a trucker blush.

Mom never did come out of the brain freeze. They have ruled out stroke and meds, so that leaves plain ole dementia, She went through alot on Friday....She is less agitated mostly, but still can't get stuff out and forgets everything. She knows us well enough, but is just a bit batty. I have taken care of her for so long...But I do feel somewhat relieved that she is being cared for by trained professionals. I have a heavy heart. Don't know if I have it for POOPS. I really miss Teach and I really wanted to hear him give a sermon. Lay pastors are usually better than "real" ones. And I miss Al, and wanted to meet you guys. Maybe I will feel up to it by the weekend. Thank you guys for being there for me...

God bless ya Don, I pray your pain goes away. You know if ya go to POOPS with Teach and Al, your pain will be in the opposite end....

I'm on for a minute but I gotta go inspect the water from inside the shower in a moment.

Grace: We do not have an exact plan but we will have a short meeting about it at POOPS. Most of it will probably go to expenses or as reimbursment to folks that helped pay the deposit on the building. There will be some of that to redistribute as well.
If you have ideas let me know.

Stimp you are killing me as usual! Can't wait to meet everyone.

I also worked on my list of stuff to bring today, then it was off to our first 4H meeting. It was interesting and my little girl is excited about camp and showing goats. I think she will also show chickens at some point.

birdluv, sorry I can't help you on the little chick. It does look better than the other pic I saw on your page. Maybe you can post in the emergency thread for more information or use the serch to see if you can come up with something.

byrdluv - I know the adults do, but at what point a chick doesn't get up at night I dunno..... as for the abcess - puncture and squeeze, no matter how much they complain has always been my tactic

Henny - Sorry about your mom. Totally understand how things like that drain your energy/spirit/everything. Over the last couple weeks my gma has started to really slip and I've realized I cannot rely on her for babysitting anymore, and I grew up with her watching me. I know it is very sad to watch the mind change. The silver lining is at least she knows who you are.

Hennies, If it is at all possible for you to get away, I think it would be good for you to come. Of course we understand if you can't make it. You guys are in our prayers. Thanks for not listimg me with the other pain in the hiney guys.
