Henny kinda/sorta provided the music........You gotta be
kiddin' ! She plays the guitar beautifully and has an absolutely
gorgeous voice !!! I vote we do some of that each evening
at the next POOPS.......

Am glad we've got Mike and John and several of the other
guys hooked up in this now. They were kinda tryin' to hold
out on us. We've got a whole mess of cooks !

Thank you Carla! Yes it was funny that we were in the same area. I was shipped across town to Douglass, I had friends at Grant an wanted to go there or Southeast.....liked a guy on the swim team, lol to be young again. Such silliness.

Luvs2, I missed anything about your mom but my thoughts & prayers are with you. I know someday it will be my turn. Carla I know how you feel my husbands grandfather did the same, he wouldn't put his wife anywhere but home. They had round the clock care for her but he did alot of it. My prayers are with your family.

Henny sounds like you NOT are taking credit where it is due!!

I heard someone talking about it and thought WOW did we ever miss out. We want to next time to rent a cabin and enjoy the whole thing. I felt like this time all we got to do was just skim the people there and kind of get an idea of who was who. But hopefully though this site and the next POOPS we can really get to know each other.

We stopped at Jones and probably should have gone on home. We bought ... or I should say I bought ...LOL.. too many eggs. It's a good thing I bought the 2 bators while at POOPS or I would have been in a world of trouble finding a bator. The eggs went so cheap I couldn't turn them down. LOL

I just wish I had taken pics myself of each person with their nametags showing and that way I could look and know who I am talking to better. Maybe we could all take a pic of ourselves and post it on for everyone to see. It sure would make this site more personal.

Sounds like we need to find a place with more cabins!! Tell KOA to start building the chicken folks are coming in mass! I am gonna get a tent place closer to the road so I don't have to walk through other sites! Plus two parking places! Need room for the trailer! Bikes would have been fun for the boys! That or buy one of those cars! Bet Monty will agree with me on that! I think I paid enough for them to buy one!

Sooner- Thank you for praying for mom. At this point of her life that 's the best thing anyone can do. She got out of the hospital yesterday and she's much better.

HennyPenny--My dad passed away last September 26th. At the same time my dad was dying my mom was in a different hospital dying. While this was going on their 62nd wedding anniversary came around. It was so sad with them both so sick and couldn't even celebrate.

On the day that dad died our first grandson was born... a scheduled C-section... and the day before my husband had gone in for an MRI to see if his cancer was back. I honestly didn't think I was going to make it through that time. But God's grace was sufficient and he pulled us through.

So, I totally understand what people are going through with parents. Our grandson is wonderful, and my husband's cancer was not back, and we got mom into the most wonderful nursing home to get her back on her feet. But most of all my dad went home to be with the Lord and he suffers no more. He had COPD from smoking 72 years and had alzheimers. It's horrible to watch.

Anyway, when things get tough and feels as if you just can't go on remember there is always light at the end of the tunnel. We now have mom in an assisted living home and it's the best thing for everyone. She's taken care 24 hours a day and that gives you so much peace.

Sounds like fun but I would probably have a hard time getting the wife there. She is terrified of any type of birds.(her parents used to run a fertile egg house & her dad and brothers used to tease her when she was little with the chickens)

I barley convinced her into letting me get some RIRS but had to agree that they would stay pinned up.(except when she is gone, me and the daughter will let them loose for awhile. lol) She wouldn't even come within 50 yards of the pen when I first got them.
I put our garden right next to the pen and when I was tilling it the other day I noticed her picking up a worm and throwing it into the run and laughing at them playing chicken football.

Maybe she will get over it some day.

A chili cook off!!!! I vote twice for that!!! Perfect for the FALL GATHERING!!!!

Wanted to send a special thank you to the people of the KOA,

they were very patient with my kids and the one running the cashier was talking to me about maybe getting some Muskovy ducks at BigOkies spot, I think they went over and beyond to accomidate us!!

I really loved the location and would like to vote to have the fall meet there also, also vote for more cabins to be built!!! LOL

OR find another camp are that has the samr type amenedies!!! I theroly enjoyed myself, and Donna I didn't get your PM yet

but really enjoyed our visit!

I was kinda dissapointed that we didn't get to do the Ckickendales coress line dance, I wore my shorts and all!!!!!
