hello everyone i have been so busy tending to 50 chickens and of course opening day of rifle.... i havent had time too get on this darn thing to see if anyone had a suggestion to my problem, i started noticing that a couple of my grown chickens and roos were sneezing and runny nose anyway i had someone to pick some med up for me , i said terramyacin thinking that was the thing too give but was told none was in stock so i was brought something called duramycin-10 is that the same thing???? i cant seem to find it on the web too know... anyway i been giving it too them in their water so i hope it works... my 85 year old uncle told me that they back in the OLD DAYS lol use too pour karocyn down their throat omg i said i cant do that!!!! lol sounds a lil too crazy for me... lol anyway if anyone knows about this drug id sure appreciate the advice...

I did Terramycin for 5 days... they showed some improvement... but some were still snotty and sneezing... so I switched to the LS-50 nn suggested. Started that today. Everyone is having problems with this... is it normal for them to get infections when the weather gets cold? This is my first year with chickens... Are they gonna do this every dang year? I thought it was introducing new chickens, but I don't know now. That LS-50 is pricey and for me I will go through a bottle in 8 days. I found it on the web for 25.00 but, I may not always be able to afford that. I want to just give up. I feed the darn things the best food and they have a great coop to be warm and I try to take good care of them...spending money left and right.... who am I kidding... Couldn't live without my hennies... but I sometimes wonder what I'm doing wrong.

I raising back in march i have hatched a few and bought 8 also at attwoods so i dont know if i am doing everything right either... lol so i am with ya on that one.. and this cold thing they got going i have no idea.... never seen it or heard of this before... this duramycin-10 is like 3.50 for a little bag 6.4oz at attwoods i dont know if i have the right stuff or not. it says it is a antibiotic so i guess we will find out.. LIVE N LEARN.... where are u from???

Illness is really a fact of keeping birds sometimes. Once it gets cold and stays that way they will be a lot better off. Mainly it's the 30-50 temp difference daily that is stressing them out just as it is us. Hang in there ladies, soon it will get better!
I looked up the meds you got and as long as they are not too severe they may respond to it. The active ingredient should be Tetracycline hydroxide, duramycin is a trade name and that is why you could not find any info on it.

Hi group,

I'd just like to ask tha if anyone finds a lost wazoo, call me. I froze mine off this morning when I went out in cut-offs and sandals to feed and I haven't seen it since.

I'd been attached to that wazoo for a number of years but it just couldn't seem to stand the cold temperatures this morning. So if anyone finds a strange wazoo, let me know.

A STRANGE WAZOO????? lol well i didnt lose mine stimpy and i was out there in the middle of the woods from 6am till 10am i think i frooze mine also but it is still with me!!! lol butt i'll let u know if i see one in this neck of the woods lol:thumbsup

I once froze mine to a stump in East Texas...went hunting on the father-in-law's place. Real cold, little rain that froze to everything. I sneak out and sit on a fallen tree. Guess I was worm enough to melt the ice a bit...it froze around the edges and when I went to get up...I was attached to the tree. It was pretty funny after I realized I hadn't left my britches frozen to the tree! Been alot more careful about where and what I stick mine into...

Y'all had me cracking up about frozen wazoos. I worked mine off today, washing and waxing hubby's truck for him. Big job... and I had to use products that his brother gave him instead of my Meguire's. If it ain't broke don't fix it.... blah... blah...blah. So now it's a really good white wine my sis sent me for my b-day and the computer...ahhhh... (*Hennies singing, "here's to good friends, tonight is kinda special..."*)

Anyways... I have a conundrum... a dilemma... a horrible thing going on. I have a pullet in a cage that needs to be culled. I don't know what in blazes is wrong with it and have given up playing Shelock Holmes. I took it out back today, behind the coop and was going to wring it's neck. My boss used to do that at the feed store I worked at in CA. Then I couldn't do it. I thought to myself, "Self... what if you frig this up"? I am going to try again tomorrow. They say the first one is the worst and after that it gets easier. I don't know that I ever want it to be easy for my to kill things, but I do know that it's reasonable to be able to do so without very it up or blowing groceries. Anyway, prayers and thoughts would be appreciated while I wrestle with this conundrum...dilemma... horrible thing.

What a gorgeous day it has been. I know Oklahoma well enough to know that means tomorrow will suck. It will be windy as all get out... or cold... or both.

Stimp... they get better and better. Here's to your Angels of Death
