Ya'll crack me up, my DW say's I don't have a wazoo but I think I do since it gets chewed out every now and then when I make an error in judgement LOL LOL. KT that white wine sounds good about now, just went 10 rounds with the folks at AT & T when I went to get DW & DD new phones cause I am such a good guy. man do I despise dealing with those knuckleheads, but I got it handled, now I need a stiff 2 fingers worth of Crown. KT TOAST, Saulutee, raise one for all of us.

Hey County,

I just called the Cleveland County Sheriffs Office and asked about the dumped birds. They are just going to give them away to whoever can give them a home. Before I could stuff a gag into my mouth, I popped off and volunteered to take some of them. I guess tomorrow I'll start building cages. darn I'm dumb.

I guess I can keep them until I build enough cages and give them away in singles and pairs. I've found that if you give them the birds, complete with cage and about a pound of feed for starters, you can find homes pretty fast.

I read or heard somewhere that they look like "flying candy". Or maybe I heard that if you have enough of them, they taste like chicken. I don't remember which.

You're very welcome! I'm HAPPY to assist other BYC Okies with getting these birds. We sure enjoy them. It'll be hard for you to resist opening the incubator when they begin hatching too. The silkies will hatch almost a day before the turkens and marans, but I recommend not touching any of them until it looks like everything that pipped has hatched, or those that aren't thru hatching will dry up & get stuck in their shells. Well, at least that's been my experience. We just hatched 60+ chicks yesterday & today.

Thanks for the info Stimpy, let me know if they call you and have any extras left. Not that I need any more birds to feed. I just like them. I raised some once, many years ago. I kept them in the laundry room. They seemed to like it, but it sure makes for lots of dust & feathers!

Oh, and Stimpy, the Spitzhauben eggs are developing nicely. Only 2 that were clear and there were extras, so hopefully you'll have a lot of nice little chirping fluff balls in a week!

Yay, I'm so excited that people are going to adopt them!

I got my first budgie when I was 9, and had him through my freshman year of college. He was great.

Haven't found a way to talk hubby into this one though...

Carla, they said they found hundreds, so I doubt they'll run out too fast. *ha*

Stimp, thanks so much for giving us an update. Budgerigar is the Aboriginee for 'good food', so maybe the chicken thing it right.

HennyPennies, has your chicken(s) responded to the LS-50 that nnbreeder suggested? I'm happy to report that our Brabanter pen, with the hen that we had with sneezing & puffy eyes has cleared up!

We also have a trio of bantams that Gerald bought at the last Cement auction that have finally improved after treating them with it. HOORRRAAAAYYYYY!!!!!! I was ready to request Gerald put them out of their misery until we decided to try the LS-50. I definitely recommend the stuff now. We treated those bantams with Oxymycin for a week, then Sulmet for a week with no improvement until we treated them with the LS-50. I'm still not going to get those bantams near any of my other birds until they're free & clear of symptoms for another couple of months.

nnbreeder, THANKS for the recommendation!

You saved them!

Has anyone tried the dry incubation method. I tried it this last go around and all of my fertilezed eggs hatched but one, far better then the luck I was having with wet incubation. If you havent tried it give it a whirl.
