The next time I go to Tulsa I'll sure let you know.
I would of this last time I seen you were going to the sale and would be out of town. So we missed it that time.
OK i have been getting messages about POOPS. Here is one that I thought I should ask the group.
Do we want this opened up to people outside the group or do we want to keep it to our group members and their families and friends?
Here is my opinion for what it is worth.
The main goal of this event was to get to meet the people we talk to everyday but have never or barely met.
It is the chance o get to know them better and share stories, plans and ideas. plus swap some eggs and chickens and eat some great food.
Opening it up to everyone will mess up the food plans.
I think opening it up to just anyone will diminish the opportunity we have to get to know our fellow Okie BYCer's.
So what do you guys think?

Well said Monty!!, I personally would love get to meet and visit with our members, But in an auction setting this will surely be impossible, why do we keep drawing ourselfs into the whole public auction enviroment. I can go to auctions anytime it's not that big a deal, As far as opening it to the public The last thing I want is to have to deal with auction RATS comprimising what would otherwise be a good time. If it always going to be centered around the auction idea, I may have to rethink the whole thing. sorry folks Monday morning and headed out, to a passel of problem to solve at the job site.

I personally would like to open our POOPS Party to a select few people that I always see at the auctions I attend. There are a few gentlemen that are computer illiterate and either don't have a computer and/or don't know how to use it. I'll just mention first names here, and I think several memebers know them ... Jack and Sam. If there's any way we could allow them to be members, I sure would like to, and I'm pretty sure they'd love to attend. They both have vast knowledge about birds and are super-friendly, likeable guys.
I did say, that I thought it should be for BYC members, their families and friends. I don't think anyone would mind if someone brought some friends. I don't have a problem with that as long as it is something we can get a head count on.
However if we opened it up to all comers and put the word out, it would totally change what this event was meant to be.
Plus by opening it up we would have no way of knowing how many people would be there and how much food we would need.
Carla or anyone else. If you want to invite some friends, that is great. I absolutly have no problems with that. I might invite a friend myself.
I just don't want to see a flier posted somewhere inviting everyone to this event or have someone announce at an auction that everyone is invited to a free bbq and chicken swap.
Carla, I thought about inviting Jack too and probably will. I have told him about the group and to look for us on line.
Is Sam the guy from Lawton that keeps all the notes?
Anyway to clarify, It will be fine for you or anyone else to invite friends to the event.
all anyone has to do is joint our group and they are welcome. I would like to see people that are on here about once a month anyway. we have a lot of members that have only been on long enough to say hi and that's it.. I really don't like the idea of holding it the same time as an auction..
But hey I am just one lone voice
I totally agree. I have some friends that live in Missouri and are BYC members they are panning on coming up to my house that weekend. Wont be any fliers from me and if we have it at Lex we can let Jim know that. He will be alright with it.

Pepper48_98 when would you like them? Would you want to pick up or wait till I come back to Tulsa? It could be awhile I'm not sure when I'll be going again.
I have Welsummer eggs now and will have some more after the 25th.
slightly cracked - he has our original trio and a pair or trio that he originated with...There should be a good dark roo and three hens and a pair of the red laced (I am fairly sure that is the wrong color) I don't think there were any whites...the laced roo isn't great...they are just starting to lay...I am not sure about price but will check with him when he gets back...the only thing with them is you have to AI them...talk to TJ Na-Na! They are our experts! I think I can pull it off as well...that sounded bad
I am not for opening it up either...friends are great and I might bring a buddy to split driving cuz my wife might not come...
