Teach, After you come to POOPS you may want to relocate to central or eastern Oklahoma. We have lakes (with water in them) and rivers (with water in the them) trees that help slow the wind (a little). Just bring everything when you come to POOPS and you can stay at KOA until we find you a place.

Just dropping by.....All is half-way under control around here.
Chicks, chicks, and more chicks all over the place. Bill went
in for his traction treatment and is putting up flyers at all
four feed stores in the area. None of them seem to be getting
chicks in, so should be able to move them. We're only parting
with the laying type chicks so far, but we've got a mess of 'em.

Am sure you've seen the TV commercial about trying to learn
to do stuff without a cigarette. Bill is going through it now....
but without his glasses....... it's hilarious.

Skyla told TJ on the bus that the "puppies were soooo cute"....
so guess they are here and I figure Ronnie is still working on
his truck after the incident with the deer, too.

Langshanman - if you happen to drop back by here - I told
Bill that you were wanting to move some birds. He said he
would call you this evening. He knows a couple of folks that
are looking for some nice birds. But, it will be dookie to
pay if either of you tell TJ !!!!!!!!!

Now, will hit "submit" and see what shows up on here today....
LOL

Have a good one !

I am also curious about what they mean when they post "showgirls".

I have eggs coming but considering the date, they won't be hatched by the time POOPS is here so I am thinking I am already getting turkeys, why not silkies. I also like the Frizzels.

Are they hard or any different than other chickens as far as upkeep?

Some of you guys may have seen some of my posts about a very well respected OEGB breeder and showman named Mark Massey.
He is my neighbor and I called him this morning to see about gettting some eggs or chicks to have at POOPS and he told that he has completly sold out and is out of the chicken business altogether.
I am kinda in shock he had some of the best birds around.
He said it just got to the point to where it was all work and no fun and he is going to spend a lot more time with his kids and doing things with them.I respect him for that but I am still in shock.

That is sad that a good breeder is letting it go but maybe once the kids have grown up some he will come back. I know when mine were young I didn't have time to do the things I am working on now with my chickens.

Basically that's it. There is some refinement needed to get them good enough to show. The last show girls I saw in a show were in the 17 generation of breeding.

You and me both! I was done in when she mentioned bringing turkey poults. I do also want some blue silkies, and grey if she has any of that color.
