I have a new member for y'all's "chickaholic" branch !!!!!!
I mentioned earlier that Bill was going to stop by co-op and
put up flyers to sell these laying type chicks........................
............He came home with CHICKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!..................
And, of all things..........STANDARD COCHINS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4 Blue and 3 Partridge............... I asked him, "and just how
the hell long does it take to blow dry a STANDARD cochin????? "
These chicks are huge and have a lot of leg feathering
already. They make the Langshans look small.....................
He's grounded !!!!!!!!!!

Sooner - If they're laughing at you, they'll have to include
me, too. I'll have one of those about as soon as anyone
finds a box of cloves (seasoning) in my kitchen. I just can't
go there.

Is absolutely beautiful here in NE Oklahoma.

Like I said I have eggs coming, thought they would be here today. Hope she didn't send them to my home address..... so I am only waiting on one other one besides that. I worry that I won't have a good hatch rate and I really really really want them!

Ronnie and I are both just up the way, 9 miles north of
Tahlequah. He and I met on this forum, our kids ride the
school bus together, we live about 3/4 of a mile apart.....
and haven't met yet...........LOL

Skyla did tell TJ that they were talking about POOPS. That
would be a hoot to finally meet him clear down there !

That is a heat sink, You want your thermostat to work off the temp of the e g gs , not the air temp..so what I did was drill a hole in the top of a baby food jar, stick my temp lead in and cover the hole with silacone (Sp) then fill with water screw the lid back on and set near the e g gs..when the temp gets 100 it should cut off your heat. when heat drops in the jar the heat comes back on.. works good for me

BTW: I place all my heating devices in the bottom now for better control..

I have a really cute mini-schnauser puppy for sale or trade. AKC registered, male, tail docked, first shots and wormed. He's the last puppy of the last litter. We're getting the mama fixed.

What kind of heating elements do you use, like out of a dishwasher or something else?

No just 2 75 watt bulbs..That way if 1 burns out you have a backup , 1 will keep the temp about 75 to 80
also I change them every other hatch. and then use the used ones for my brooder lamps in my teenage cages
