I'll have to go back and read more thoroughly after the girls are in bed tonight.

Henny - sorry bout your mom, hope things get better.

Stray - Happy Bday

Sonya - cute duck! I want a duck

Oh well....

POOPs - I found some plates and napkins in the back of my pantry, I'll bring them, it might be enough plates for 20, napkins for about 10 judging from the menu of dripping meat

A half a pkg of spoons/forks too.

I think I'll be bringing cinnamon rolls and either pumpkin pie or cherry.. maybe both.. preferences?

I know I've forgotten some posts I was going to comment on, but three ain't bad.... oh yeah.... cameras? Oh look at that, can't come

Well, if you're anywhere near Mena AR, on that Sunday, you should drop in for the parade. The city is dedicating a monument to honor a young Marine that threw himself on a grenade in Korea to save his fellow Marines. He is the only native born son of Arkansas to be awarded the Medal Of Honor. The Marine band will be there.

Ya know? After I typed that, I was overwhelmed. Just think of what a totally unselfish act that was. I am glad that I never had to face such a situation.

General George Patton said that we "... should never mourn the death of men like these, but we should celebrate that such men lived."

damper? I was just thinking of the medal of honour recipient I met. Came and talked at our school. Neat feller...then I thought of all the Aggies that recieved it and how Patton had said give me an army of West point graduates and I will win the battle...give me a handful of Texas Aggies and I will win the war! Wish we still named schools and stadiums after people like them instead of the highest bidder...

Ive only been going for a year now. I fell in love with the place last year. Ive always been interested in that time. Great fun and great acts. I cant compare the Muskogee fair to any others but I think its great. I dont dress up (yet) but my friends do. If you make it watch out for Captain Pinky, he ties pink lace around your arms.

Ok, that's just not right, and you are making me hungry! (I guess it's

for lunch). You shouldn't be able to do that to a guy who can't be there. Well, at least send me pics of the spread and the party. If I were coming it looks like you need me to bring a cajun marinated fried turkey or some good dutch oven desserts and sides

. I hope that the weather holds for ya'll and you have a great time.

kerrywoo: Any luck with the ducks?

I may have to find me one of them auctions when I come in June!

I'm kinda out of touch, I didn't know that Muskogee had a medieval fair. They have one in Las Vegas once a year and there is an extended run one in Cedar City, UT that has the works; plays, swords, food, dress-up and all.

Larkspur, CO (I may be wrong on that name, but from memory thats it) is nice, I'd love to go back to that one. One day when my girls are bigger we are going to go to scarborough in TX. Each time we planned a trip down there something would come up and keep us from going. Its supposed to be the empitimy of med faires. There is one (actually two diff ones I think) in Kansas City, my aunt really likes those, but not willing to travel far for them with small children

I had a bad experience working for a lady at the muskogee fair once (drove her out there from the OKC airport, set her booth up overnight and almost a full day of work, but had to come back to the city thinking my gma was dying, never did get paid for my work), then went w/ a friend for one of the overnights that was actually working the for fair the following year and there were a few things that bugged me, so just haven't gone back.

Best wishes from here, too !!!!!!!!!!!!

Got the ice maker this morning...got it plugged in and am
test driving this thing.....so far, so good, except, guess since
I'm an old Na-Na, I was expecting old-fashioned square
cubes of ice.....LOL It's making these little funky cup
shaped deals.......LOL The first couple of batches seemed
to try to melt fairly fast, but I figure it will take a while for the
box to cool and hold it longer. Takes me a while with these
new-fangled gadgets..............But, I'm sure it will pay for itself
this summer down at the lake.

Have a good one !
