What do you do with all the roosters?

Lynn, I'm jealous! I want to get my garden in but the weather isn't letting me. Every time it starts to dry up we gets more rain!

Can you tell yet if it is a pulet or a cockeral? I am definately interested in purchasing it if it is a pullet.

the weather radar looks like the worst of the storms have moved out of OKC and are heading NE. I am grateful for a beautiful day to work outside, today. By the time the rain started, I was tired and ready for an excuse to come inside. The best news is that my Sportsman incubator has been sanitized and this week we will start putting turkey and guinea eggs in it (if we can find where the guineas are now hiding their eggs)

I put some we gathered today, under a chicken hen that acts like she might like to go broody. I love it when a hen hatches the eggs, she provides the brooder while the chicks are small, also.

Do you keep managed hives? I got into my hives yesterday afternoon and had planned to put foundation into frames today, so I could add supers on all the hives. Got a lot of other things done today, but putting wax foundation into frames wasn't one of the the tasks that got checked off.

Several of the beekeepers at the Noble Beekeeper's meeting this week mentioned they had each had about 6 swarm calls this week, which is what made me (finally) look into my hives. It looks like they wintered over well enough that my bees may be next to swarm if I don't get them some foundation to draw out for the queen to lay eggs in.

So, how many different ways can they cook rattlesnake on a stick?

I wonder how many rattlesnake festivals there are in Oklahoma? I would expect to see several in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, but Oklahoma always seems like such a tranquil and varmit free place to live.

The Bee keeping thing sounds interesting, so when they swarm are they leaving and looking for a new home for the queen ??.
