It has REALLY changed in the 15 years I've been here; there is a whole motor speedway complex, truck stop, industrial complex, and huge auto auction between Nellis and my place.

Second!

You know why the wind blows so much in Oklahoma?... I should leave the joke tellin' up to Stimp.

Henny-that's tough, we had to do that with wife's dad, alzheimers. That is a long story though. Prayers to you.

Teach - is that ammo on the front of that trailer?

Dear friends.... I have to relate this while it is still fresh in my mind and give God glory and praise. To say this week has been rough would be an understatement, as you might imagine. My mom being so sick and then losing her mind somewhat. This was a shock to me, but have learned recently that in dementia onset can come rather quickly. My sister said that my mom has probably been degrading for sometime, I just haven't noticed it. My grandmother also suffered from dementia, Although a more negative combative personality, she was very difficult to deal with. So far my mom is very sweet, but I realize that this could change at any minute. Over nothing. Scary. Any way in picking up her room tonight I realized just how far things had gone without my knowing it. If y'all need Kleenex, Toilet paper or panty liners... she has a super abundance of all of them squirreled away in her closet. I am not kidding.... I could open a store. Also the Publishers Clearing house deal is a monster of GINORMOUS proportions.... I am going to call the PO tomorrow and see if I can get her off the hook for this stuff. There were boxes and boxes of ssweepstakes she entered. Complete with how much she paid out to enter and the award money she would receive. THOUSANDS of them. I knelt on her floor and bawled....how I overlooked these issues so easily baffles me. But at the same time they gave me a sense that I have done the best thing for her.

I admitted her to Plantation Village this afternoon. I was so impressed with them when my friend was there. It literaly doen't smell like anything but hospital... no urine smell at all...And they have been really there for me. They have told her she can have her cat....I just don't know quite how to go about it. They had a balloon bouquet tied to her nightstand and a bunch of snacks on her trayb. She was too overwhelmed with stress and chaos to realize the trouble they went to, although she was impressed that they replaced her dinner of catfish with giant muffins and fresh fruit. She said it wasn't half bad...which for her is a compliment.

The financial end of everything terrifies me. I had to go to DHS and apply for medicaid, which picks up whatever medicare doesn't pay. And if it is not in place in 20 days I gotta pay 130.00 a day until it kicks in retroactive... I picked up an application and was told to bring 12 bank statements, birth certificate, SSI papers etc. I knew it was going to be a long arduous affair. When I was called in they informed me that since she had state aid paying her medicare premiums and covering her prescriptions as well... she was already in the system! What should have taken an hour took less than 5 minutes. I left with a sincere feeling in my heart that God had been everywhere before me smoothing the way.

For doing what I had to do... it went the best it could go. I left her tonight tucked in under my big plush OU blanket...seemingly as contented as she could be for all the stress of the last week.

When I got home I collapsed. Guilt and a feeling of failure in being able to care for her myself. Jesus in His great kindness reminded me even He had to get someone to watch over his mom when He could no longer do it. I was bawling and asking God for a hug....he told me to go in and do my devotion. So I staggered into the house... and it was all about thunderstorms in our heads that cause us to miss God's presence and blessing. It even had my favorite quote from Beth Moore's Esther study... We are always asking what if this or that happens....She says then God will provide....I have "WHAT IF...? THEN GOD...! written on my mirror.

This has all gone so well... That it MUST BE GOD...and in waiting for the other shoe to drop, I miss an opportunity to have faith and trust Him.... God has heard the prayers of His people and He has led me through a pretty dark wilderness without so much as a stone to stumble over. I testify of Him this night... that He is God and there is none other beside Him.

Yes they did, they wanted Slaughterville to change their name to Veggieville. There was a bar and grill there and had the best grilled burgers for miles. Well they wanted the grill to server veggie burgers. Well that went over like a Led Zepplin (sp?)

I must be crazy...
I thought I missed poops ? We had a friend at school loss her little one. All time stops. Then AnnaBells big hen seems to have a problem lying her eggs. We all call her big mama and she loves to sit on Anna.
Now Im from California and here I am in Oklahoma with a chicken in my bath tub rubbing its but talking soft in the dark....
Somebody smack me and tell me its true... We didnt miss poops ?

Good morning everyone. I've been away for a while and couldn't possibly read everything to catch up. I'm checking on the POOPS t-shirts today.

If anyone wants to add to the order, let me know and I'll see if it can be done.

The screen printer will let me take the shirts and return with the money so nobody needs to worry about paying in advance now. Thanks to everyone who sent their money though.

Sounds like everything is coming together for POOPS!
