Hey all...still don't have my laptop cord, so I'm on here infrequently. I'm hoping to have it today or tomorrow though. I'd like to take my laptop to POOPS with me--not that I'll have a lot of time to be websurfing, but since my hubby can't go, I can chat with him after hours...LOL.

The ducklings had their first outdoor outing the other day in the grass...they loved it and were tuckered out afterward. They sure are messy little creatures! I set my 3 dozen chicken eggs yesterday around noon, and I've got a cool set up this time around with the auto turner and aquarium tubing run to the troughs so I can add water without opening the bator.

I've got so much prep to do for POOPS and for sending Meghan to NASA with the girl scouts...but I'm working 8 hours a day and then trying to keep up with the rest of life at the same time....wish I could clone myself.

Henny, I'm glad that things are looking up for you. It's about time. I have a question tho, and it's none of my bidness so you don't have to answer if you don't want to. You mentioned that your sister said that your mother has probably been going downhill for awhile and you just haven't noticed. Where was your sister while you were going thru that nightmare alone? Why wasn't she there to take up some of the slack? Why haven't you slapped her like she owes you money?

There was quite a long pause on the other end of the phone, followed by a ray of recognition as she was heard to mutter, "Well, crap, so that's why no one was at church today."

Don, When I took my son to school this morning there was a very large side by side refrigerator laying by the side of the road. I checked it out. I couldn't budge it. I thought well if it is still there on Saturday I could get the Chickendale weightlifters to load it up for you to take home.
Alas when I went back to get my son this afternoon it was gone.

Some people have trouble with all those 'shall's' and 'shall not's' in

Folks just aren't used to talking in those terms.

So, in middle Tennessee they translated the 'King James Version' into

'Jackson County' language..... no joke,

Hey all, newbie here! We live in Tuttle (actually, we're Okcarla's neighbor!) and enjoy chickens as a hobby (we have 9 assorted brown egg layers- hatchery stock...not sure what they are, but they're fat and sassy).

It looks live I've jumped in mid-stream on the poops meeting excitement. Wish we could go, but I have a 3 month old and cant say he'd be too thrilled with that decision.

We're going to try to make it to the Blanchard poultry auction this weekend, though. (At least I think it's this weekend??) Think there will be a good turnout with the poops meet up going on? I'm needing a few more brown egg laying pullets that are already starting to lay (not too picky on the breeds, but they need to be quiet and gentle). My other goal is to get some Marans chicks for fall laying.

Any suggestions?
