He actually had it that same color red for a while...the only picture I have of it that color, his mohawk was down. He doesn't have the mohawk now....not that he won't at any given time..LOL. He'll be 21 in October and is such an amazingly selfless and giving kid.

Dear Buckguy20,
We are from Moore, Oklahoma, and are brand new to chicken farming. We have 20 bantams, and are having a ball. We just wish we would have started sooner. We have 4 boys, and are getting them very involved. It's all brand new, so thank God for BYC. Please add us to your Oklahomans list. Thanks for grouping us all together. Its great to know that we are in such good company. It doesn't get any better than living in Ok.
Thanks,
Granger, Rhonda, Tyler
Nick, Zack and Ben

I'm not Buckguy20 (Monty), just an out-of-state Okie, but enjoy your chickens and the site. There is alot of info here if you need it, and the Okies here are a whole lot of fun and will try and help also. They are planning another gathering (POOPS) in the fall. Feel free to go back and read some of the posts, if you can keep up. It's not easy!

Disclaimer - this group is a bunch of enablers and will try to get you addicted to hatching chickens and going to poultry auctions.

Good morning all.
Welcome fireman, Like P&B said we are enablers. I am not far from you, out by dirty bird.

Thanks Monty for wondering about me, we didnt get any pens built but did get the back yard cleaned up some. Gathered all the eggs yesterday, wasnt able to get them Saturday or Sunday and they were all a muddy mess, so I washed them and was drying them off to go into the fridg. Lynn says hey lets hatch them. I looked at him mortified, I just washed them, then thought heck why not test it out. So we set up the old wash tub lookin brower and I guess we will know in 21 days.

Well looks like rain again today. I am so sick of it.

Stray - good luck on your tests today

Tina - let us know how the hatching goes with the formerly muddy eggs. I can't get my chickens to wipe their feet before laying their eggs in the nest and the turkeys insist on laying their eggs in the middle of the mud. Ugh. I have tried cleaning the turkey eggs because I want to put them in the incubator, but some have gone into the dog's dish instead.

I also give my eggs a little cleaning before they hit the bator, just seems more sanitary. I have not had any problems with low hatch rates. Plus all of the eggs I recieved in the mail have also been cleaned.
