Oh and ive got a 3D Maglight that has been trhough heck. Ive used it to break ice in water buckets for goats and chickens. It is also the surviver of a 5 foot black snake attack in one my shop one nite. The snake may of killed my Silkie (honestly i dont see how it could of even ate this thing) but the maglight bashed in its head real good like. The head is all dented and paint is scratched off but it works with the original bulb, its over 10 years old.

Ronnie that must be a kid thing. I buy them all the time, even get the kids their own but that doesn't keep them from taking mine. I do have a few that they know not to touch.

That is great Monty! My oldest has no interest in hunting but the youngest you can't keep out of the woods. We have some good friends that he goes with (my DH doesn't hunt) and once he got his deer our friends son wouldn't go anymore. My freezer is still full of deer.

Carah, You said you lived southeast of Muskogee. How far are you from Braggs? I have some friends that live there. I also have family between Checotah and Warner. I used know a lot of folks from Council Hill. One better than the others.

Hows the goat doing sooner. Im taking care of my neighbors right now and one nanny is gettin sweet on me. They got a pilgrim goose over there that is in love with my blue jeans also. They let me have all the eggs I watn while there gone and I had 3 today that are absolutely ginormous, gonna try to incubate them and hope they aint double yolkers. My friend at works wants chickens so im hatching him out way more than he knows lol

Ronnie, One of my wife's bestest friend teaches at Keys but she lives closer to Tahlequah. I am not sure where. Her husband works for one of the rural water districts but I am not sure which one. At least he used to, I haven't talked to him in a few years. The wives keep in touch though.

Ronnie - Like I said....no expert here...but if you've got a hen
that is that determined to be a good MaMa.....Let her "do"
those four...take a break...and "turn 'er loose" again......
It's a silkie..right?....Next go-round....if she starts wanting to
set.....give 'er 20 ! Betcha she'll whip it............... And will
tend her chicks beautifully..... There isn't anything more fun to
watch than a hen making her different little sounds, and
somehow the chicks seem to know what she's saying....and...
when two or three don't listen....a "different" sound brings 'em
running.............

Gees, that brought back some memories for all of us.......
didn't it????????????

Have a good one !

Well Braggs is across the river and up the mountain but in order for me to get there I have to go down the turnpike back to shawnee and toward Ft. Gibson like everyone else. LOL. When they are having exersices at grubber it will sometimes shake the house. I am also on the flight path for the choppers.

The area that I live in is less than 10 min from town called gooseneck bend, we are out past the paper mill

Yup, Ice chest (coleman would work best), light bulb, computer fan or similar and a hot water tank thermostat. Plus a dish of water.

The goat is almost over missing it's momma and we have a nanny goat to keep it company. The nanny isn't real tame but she is getting better and my daughter has started working with "Todd" walking & stuff. I can't wait to get them in the new pen.

I love to share my chickens! My mom has a friend at work that I send eggs to all the time. For some reason he can't seem to hatch them, but I get free honey out of it so all is good. I have offered to hatch some for him.

I am back! I will talk...well not really...kinda tired and all. Hides aren't any good at this point! Wait till next Feb! My boys killed their first deer this past year. I think we created some monsters! I killed my first with a bow. Now that we have a place to get deer for sure...I can totally concentrate on bow hunting up here and use the boys hunting for the table! No more pressure on the Dad!

Have fun with that goat! Just remember...some of the training may seem bad but it really isn't! I like to let the animal stand for a bit each day with their front toes just touching the ground...gives them a little respect.
