Teach, My hens must have seen the pic of your broodies.
I have three on one nest.I am lucky if I can get three to set all summer. Plus I have an incubator going now so I don't even need any broodies.
AND these goofballs are in my muddiest pen. I thought about moving them into coops but i think they are too fickle to stick it out.

Well, I only ended up with 16 chicks out of this batch, but have a neat assortment. I got the eggs off of ebay. I had some barred rocks that didn't hatch, some marans from another guy that didn't hatch, and an assortment of Black Copper Marans, Black Australorps, Buff Orpingtons, Cuckoo Marans, Blue Splash Marans and Welsummer from the same lady. She's the one who i got the best hatch. Out of 18+ eggs, 16 hatched. Think I might have to buy some more of her eggs.
My daughter is going to be so excited, she thought we only had 3 chicks.

Now the next batch goes to the "hatcher" tomorrow.

Dang it... it's like the plastic is frigged up....on the track....I hope it's not jacked up....It was not in the track (*Hennies having small stroke over turner being jacked up with piles of hatching eggs on the counter*)
