I hope all our Okies are safe right now. I just heard on the radio that there is still a circulation over East Norman ... that's the area that Tina, aka Luvs2garden lives. I hope Tina & Lynn are safe.

Gerald and I are stuck working at Tinker tonight ... just got out of our safe areas ... stuck in there for around 45 minutes waiting for the all-clear. The building I work in, our tornado shelter is the break room. Gerald works in another building, and they meet in a bathroom. Heck, at least I get to drink a cup of coffee while riding out the storm.

It sounds like the Anadarko area got hit by a tornado. I hope everyone is OK tonight

We just got back home, we left for awhile when it hit Anadarko it was hummin, so we got out when it got close to us. I don't have a storm cellar, but it was really bad, I can't see the coop's but things seem ok.

I had put in a serious day's work on the coop exspansion today, I am adding 6 new breeding pens that will be 6'x12'x7'high each, I got most of it framed in, and hopfully I can get some more done tomorrow. I hope it is still standing lots of debris around, Looks like we are in for a long night in Elgin it just started to hail again, and another whopper is a comin, I got eggs in the bator along with all you other Okies LOL, but I have a back up heat source. I have one those portable car battery sources that can run my heat lamp and thermostat for about 18 hrs, it has an 110v back up on it, cool.

Hey ya'll - sorry I haven't been on lately - I've missed you all! I haven't caught up since last Friday. I'm in Stillwater at the Special Olympics Oklahoma Summer Games this week. Tonight (Wed) was our Opening Ceremonies, and I've been working on that. We had to lock down Gallagher-Iba Arena tonight and couldn't let anyone out due to weather. But our show was AWESOME - we were able to extend the show 'til the All Clear sounded and everything went great for Opening Ceremonies. I don't think Olympic Village and all the outside tents fared well in the storms, but I won't see what's really happened out there till morning. We have 4,333 athletes this year - SOOK's Summer Games is the largest amateur sporting event in North America...

Here's an "in progress" pic from yesterday...just so you know I've been working and not ignoring my BYC peeps for no good reason...
The theme is Special Olympic Oklahoma's 40th Homecoming (SOOK's 40th Anniversary).

Miss you guys and I will be able to catch up this weekend. Thanks Monty for going all Buckguy on me and insisting I check in. Hope everyOkie is safe and sound tonight.

Al - glad to hear you and yours are alright. Hopefully, when the sun comes up, you will find that your exceptional workmanship held up in the wind.

Cityclucks - what you are doing with the Special Olympics is awesome. My middle grandson saw something on the news about the Special Olympics and his eyes lit up and told about the ceremony held at his elementary school for their participants.

We probably need a roll call today to check on al the Okies after last night's storms.

Oceanseve - glad to see you are alright

Is everyone okay?

I'm alive, power went out about 2:30 or so this morning. It's been off ever since. I came to work early, running on very little sleep, so I could plug my incubator in. I really hope my hatch isn't ruined. I will cry. Eggs on day 18, and others are a week or two into incubation.

Temps got down to 80 deg. F so maybe they'll be okay, if not delayed.

I finally got a call into the electric co-op so maybe they'll get it fixed.

Monty - here is an article about how to kick a caffeine addiction

I used to get terrible headaches after I finished a major project and couldn't figure out why -until I realized that while I was working 20 hour days for a few weeks, I was drinking 6-12 cans of diet coke/diet Dr. Pepper a day and once the project was complete - I would go back to just ice water - resulting in a MAJOR headache from the lack of caffeine.

Cuban i woke up yesterday and my wife had unplugged the bator on accident, It was down to 83. I came home and candle some 7 day eggs and still had little black moving dots. I would say your hatch will be fine if not delayed. Hope that makes ya feel a little better. Its amazing how much we stress over incubating these guys. We had lots of rain and noise last nite but the power never went out.

I GOT 2 PIPS 5 TO GO WOOT!

They're a lot tougher early on in development than they are right before hatch. That's my only worry. I have some valuable eggs that I've been waiting to see results from and they're in the batch due to hatch in about three days.

It is still raining here.

Last night was a spectacular storm, lots of lightening and very loud thunder. Wind, Rain... I think some hail fell as well.

Morning everyone. We got thru the storm alright. Lynn told me to get ready (dressed) we were going to the ditch. I said, I aint going to no ditch. Snakes in there. He said he would take his chances with the snakes. Nope not me. I will hole up in the bathroom. Did get a scare or 2 had lightning strike real close, so close it shook the house.
I guess we need ot get a fradie hole.
Hope everyone else is OK. Check in Steph. She was in the same path as us over in Pott county.
