So Grace, I don't think I completely understood. Are you going to Florida to work or go to school? What are the fancy building pics?
We have a friend that is starting his second full year at Disney World.

Les, Just double checking here but since my roo is not homozygous and the chicks I get from him this year will from outcrosses, none of those can be homozygous, correct.
I would need to have him with a NN hen to get the second gene. Is it that simple or is there more to it than that.
Thanks Monty

Grace, Have you heard of Bev Davis? She is like a renowned Marans breeder. Anyway she lives in Florida.
I made arrangments to go see her birds when we were down there last year but I never could work in the extra time since she was about a three hour drive from where we were.

Monty, and the other Okies who were talking about this earlier, I found a local source for "Braggs Mountain Buff Jumbo Egg Layers" chicks for $2.00! I emailed the seller to ask if they were pure Braggs line, but if they are, that is a much more do-able price than $5 a chick!

I went to the swap meet in MWC yesterday. There weren't a lot of folks with birds there due to the weather I guess, but there were some OEG's that were gorgeous.
I need to find a way to increase my chicken budget.

I will be anxiously awaiting more information on the Jumbo egg layers - the concept facinates me.

I have a hen or two that lay jumbo eggs, but I haven't figured out which ones they are so don't even know the breed to get next time..... and since I have several of each breed, the hen laying the extra large eggs is unique for some reason.

P&B, if they are pure Braggs Mountain Buff line, and if you are interested, I could pick some up for you before the Duncan Rabbit show

I was thrilled to find such a local breeder of them, and at a great price

That would be incredibly wonderful! Thank you!
I visited a rabbit breeder who shows her rabbits today and got some tips on how to present the rabbit. Now, I just need to get my rabbits in tune with the practice program.
