They are not actually mine, this is the add I found for them:

Offer: Roosters Sherman: 75090
Need to find homes for 16 roosters we rescued. We were told that they were about 6 or 7 weeks old. They are called "chocolates". They are grey and white mixed with Road Island Reds. Thanks for your help.

Now, my broody bantam light brahma likes to try and snatch fingers. Luckily none of my game hens are setting. Those are scary!

I hope my fav. lady's eggs hatch. The weather was kinda wild there for a week. When I've candled there were some swimmers, so maybe!

Good Morning Okies-

Al - looks like you have big plans for the weekend, or you could just take a short trip to MO and have some help building all of those pens here. Oh, but you might not have a way to tranpost them back, now that would be a tragedy, LOL.

Grace - I would have totally thought you were out of college also! Had me fooled.

We are going to be working outside in the garden this weekend and helping my brother finish his house. Also, have to decorate graves, so we will be busy.

Had some beautiful partridge cochin babies hatch this week and need to get them moved to their brooders.

Hope eveyone has a safe and fun holiday weekend.

This past Tuesday evening was the poultry auction at Durant.
There were stacks and stacks of boxes of chicks! More than I have ever seen in one place

I did not buy any, though.
Also, there were some really interesting breeds/varieties of hatching eggs, but I did not buy any of those either. I desperately wanted to get more hatching eggs, but I have soooo many hatch dates already, I decided to let the incubator go empty for once, then I can FILL it up

The only things we did buy were a couple of cages. One was a pet carrier, and we can always find a use for those! The other is a three-section Parakeet pen. It is solid wire, but each section has a little metal feeder, and a little metal house. I thought we could use it for hauling chickens. But, just now I thought - Whoa... I imagine that would make perfect Quail pens! What do you all think (Roy?)

Thanks

Good Morning Okies What a beautiful day it is. The kids are out of school today and I got to sleep until 8:00 Wow what a difference an hour makes.
