The disclaimer won't fly with Paypal. I hate to say it but they are so ruthless with sellers. Buyers usually win any and all claims. Except for the time I bought a dvd and they guy ran off with all the money he had made for the week off selling non existent dvds. Then Paypal basically tells me I am SOL cause they can't find him and no money in his Paypal account to pay us all back.

So sorry, Carla, I hope that you can get this thing settled smoothly.

So far just lost the one and it wasn't right out of the egg! She is a good Mom so far....showing them where the food and water is and rolling the eggs to wherever the babies are hanging out so she can still set them and watch the kids!

By the way if anyone ever asks... mel Gibson is an a$$.

I finally have one and no where to put her. I was thinking of bring home a large box for her and putting her in it inside the coop, think that would work???? Seems like I heard someone did that?? Idea's anyone?

The main thing you want to guard against is other hens laying in the broodies nest or harassing her so much that she leaves the nest. What I would do is to build a little pen around her so she can be alone, somewhat. And place her food and water well away from her so she has to get up to eat or drink. That will keep her in better condition that way.

That would be my problem. My "maternity ward" has other babies and batams in it cause I had given up on getting a broody. She is in the main coop with the others....The only thing I can do would be to move her out into another area of the coop or in the pen.....I think she would be better in the coop with the weather going back and forth so much....I will see what I can come up with this weekend.

I gathered eggs the other night and was headed to the incubator, got cut off at the pass. Teva says no more hatchers till more pens are built!

So what did I do? Slipped a few under a broodie that was sitting a non-fertile nest. Think Teva will notice a Silkie hatching bantam Leghorns?

LOL, where did that come from???

Probably because he just dumped his wife of many years for a young cutie that's already pregnant.

That's cute I've never seen a hen do that before... Granted I had multiple mothers at one time... While one sat on the nest another would go eat it was the same for when the chicks started to hatch.
