be careful what you ask for - you might find more homes than you realize - after all, aren't nn birds like gooseberries - you either love them or you dislike them, but there isn't any room in between?

Hey I am an inbetweener. I do not like the nn but love showgirls. I think it has something to do with the skin color or something. I have 1 splash showgirl and 4 whites and just love them but the red skinned nn give me the willies.

Sorry to all of you that are nn lovers don't be offended. May the powers that be love ya for loving them.

Stray those that did make it should be strong birds.

I should have both standard and bantam but it will be later on. I like to see how they are devoloping before I get rid of them.

Oh and if you need more Showgirls I think I can hook you up there too.

After a few weeks on starter feed swap them to a higher percentage grower feed. I use the 20% and have had good results with it. For a time I would also keep electrolytes in their water or the booster formula that McMurray offers which can be found locally like at tractor supply or atwoods.

OK... I'm ticked now...really ticked. Two of Mrs. BO's peeps fell out of the nest box and disappeared. Just disappeared...I thought to myself... no way.... can't be.... so I decide I'm gonna rake and inspect the crap outta the coop....I had a piece of plywood on 2 cinderblocks as a dropping board for one set of roosts.... and there the B******D is hiding in one of the cinder block holes... another big rat snake! This one got chopped up good as I was letting him know what I thought of his swiping my day old peeps! It looked like Al's snake when I was finished. Sectionized...I know someone put a post on here about how to keep them out... I'm gonna hunt it down. The only thing is I think they are coming in in a rabbit tunnel. My coop has tin buried all the way around it... they gotta be either using the tunnel or sneaking in through some hidey hole. Dirtbags.

My hubby has a stomach thing with a real bad fever. I'm worried about him. My mom is getting freaky....her dementia is ramping up again I think. I need a vaction.

Henny, sorry about your two chicks. I belive someone said if you use that plastic fencing (its for gardens to keep deer out) that there scales get caught in it and they cant get out. Ive heard moth balls help but that may of been for skunks.

Thanks Ronnie.... I don't know what the difference is between this year and last....Now the dang things are everywhere. I'm scared to leave Mrs. BO out there. She left the nest box and has all her chickies on the floor in the shavings...

Carla... I know this is wrong... but I would give that dirtbag his money back and trust God with divine justice. You don't wanna listen to this guy's gas forever.... and if he is crooked...God will surely get him back for ya....Ya might not see it, but it will happen.

It was the black bird netting that they sell at Wally World to put over fruit trees. It has 1/2 in holes in it and their heads can go through but not the bodies. Just wad it up and place around the perimeter. It'll get 'em!

Any critter will bite if threatened. Usually they are in the netting so tight that they can't be saved but sometimes you can cut them out and move them. In your country I'm sure there are places that sell snake tongs so they can be safely handled.

I feel bad killing all these snakes... but they are eating my peeps! I would let em have all the eggs they wanted if they would leave the chickens alone!!!!
