That ain't right Lynn! You know how I am about OEGB and hatching eggs and such! That is just wrong! I think I am done buying shipped eggs until it cools a bit! I will try to finish shipping to the one Lady I have in Texas but I have an over full sportsman that was double stacked in a place or two until today....hatched 22 cotournix, 1 button, and 1 chicken of unknown variety!

Where is everyone?

What colors did you get? You are the one that hatches but can't keep the babies...right?

thanks for posting them- needed a smile... coop progress is slow, but tomorow we start on the coop walls! Finally!

Am getting my keets tomorow- katy feed got them in this after noon, now- can they be in with the chickens- or should they be kept separate after they outgrow the brooder? i am reading online at least 12 weeks in a pen?

I've been hatching a bunch of eggs -- I can only keep the bare minimum since I live in the city!!

Don't want to push my neighbors too far!! lol I've been hatching a lot of gamebirds for people lately as well!!

I just got mixed batches of OEGB -- among other breeds because I love it! I will keep some pairs, but I want to have the connection from the beginning with the babies that I raise. I will have lots of chickie-doos at the end of the month (welsummers, cochins, bantams, etc!)

It's just such a little miracle to watch -- it's nice to be surrounded by little things like that.. a good reminder of the good in the world!!

oh...got a question... my older pullets are giving heck to one of the younger ones, they are about a month apart(still trying to integrate them), and the younger one has one feather that sticks up... she was a rescue and it grew in backwards- can i clip the feather- is it why they are zeroing in on her?

ok, so its just the normal getting eveyone placed...its funny, the little BR roo is the same age and does his darndest to keep the two groups separate.... he just gives the older ones a look, and they head the other direction....

Roosters slay me.... like the big hens really care what baby roos think....! But they continue on... trying to do the whole "roo" personna....

My big rooster was running around today at full speed, molesting hens and crowing. They are so much like men....I just waited patiently knowing he was getting a little too..(pardon the puns) cocky. he was right beside me... he drew himself up as tall as he could muster, sucked his lungs full of air and let out this ginormous crow, during which I completely saturated him with an ice cold hose!!!!

Teach - do you have any extra button quail eggs you could bring with you on June 12? I want to try to hatch and raise them, one more time, before I concede defeat. Or, better yet, do you have any button quail that are several weeks old that you would be willing to sell me? (that way, we can have fun watching them and you can have the fun of trying to get them to live for more than 3 days)

P&B got all my EE hens, but I do have bantam cochin and silkie chicks ... and a lot of mille fleur d'uccle .... and ... I can't remember what all I have in the brooders, but lots of chicks right now from eggs and chicks I've bought. I sure don't need as many as I have. I also have some juvenile, almost adult bantam cochin roosters for cheap. Are you going to be staying overnight after the NPIP class and going to the Blanchard auction? Maybe we could get some birds to you when you're in OKC?

Unfortunately for me, I won't be able to take off work next Friday, because my coworker will be on leave and I have my fingers crossed that I won't have to work overtime on June 13th when the Blanchard auction is held. But, Gerald, The Egg Man, can surely carry the torch and go to the auction for me. I haven't convinced him of the NPIP class yet ... but he really should go.
