I am looking for some eggs to hatch. I live in the Prague area. If anyone has some purebred chickens, reds, rocks, pretty much anything but leghorns, PM me. I would be interested in buying several dozen eggs. I just don't want mutts.

Good morning Okies,
Looks like Central Oklahoma got some rain last night, without the damaging hail that spoils the fun of a good rain. After my three day weekend (since I took off on Friday for NPIP) it is time to go back to my day job that supports my hobbies. Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Loos like You Okies are in for a hot one today. Will this rain ever end this summer? We got another two inch in an hour one yesterday. My pens are so not good!

Should have two silkies hatch this week.

Hope they do before we leave friday,my grandson,the 200 pound star football player who will be taking care of the critters, is scared to death of setting hens!

So I need to get them situated before I leave.
On the up side the gardens are growing like weeds(some of them growing good too!). Should have first squash this week,feeding the bolting lettuce to the chicks and hens. Tomatoes are loaded.

What Happens To You If You Mess With My Chickens...Part II

Woke up abpout 4:00 am with thunder rumbling away.....don't know how I heard the chickens over that...but they were in mayhem. Went running out there (in the pouring rain) and found this digging around my coop. He was in no hurry to bail... so I ran in and got the .22. Took 2 shots at him in the dark behind the camper shell...needless to say I missed.

Wasting ammo in the dark....DUH. He came out around the camper shell and into the light of my motion spotlight...got the headshot first....I figure that finished him... but he was still twitching so I shot him again... tried to aim for the heart... think I did OK! He's dead! Hens and peeps are saved.... Thank God I heard the ruckus... He woulda had a field day in that south coop.

Pretty good acting job, and shot. Remember the time that you could drop down a box of .22 ammo and not think twice. Now even that is getting painful cause you're not sure if you can replace it!
