Hey there Neighbor Al,

Do you know if we need a building permit out in our neck of the woods? Since we are not exactly with in town of Elgin? Curious to know.

PS: Is it possible to go to the POOPS without needing to be overnight? Is it cool to go for the day and chill?

Edited for flaming. I see you are new here. You may want to review the BYC Rules . ~Lisa~

I too have huge fit's of laughter when I toss in only one big treat and watch the football game begin. I have a barred Holland hen that is my first draft choice LOL.

Thanks I thought so, but had some folks try and tell me otherwise... Good deal... I should have asked our good friends who have lived here for a long time...Wayne Keiser(farm bureau member)... But thanks for response...

The last of my hatch is now in the brooder, so I know what I'll be bringing to POOPS. I will not be setting eggs again until after POOPS, so if you're interested in any of the following, PM me and we'll negotiate. DH prefers I return from POOPS empty handed, but he will settle for some number less than the 38 I'm leaving here with.

Here's my disclaimer: I'm not any good at determining the sex of a chicken until it crows or lays eggs. Everything I'm bringing is straight run.

4 Mottled Houdans (Muesky/Rebecca - You are first in line if you want these)
11 Gold Laced Cochins
10 Barnevelders
6 Barred Rocks (some have dark legs, a hatchery trait?)
2 Speckled Sussex
Poultry & Bees and I already worked a deal for my 5 Polish chicks.

I did not stay the night last time, but I still had hours of fun during the day when we were there!

Well got my auction fix today. Boy its was hot there too. But it was the biggest sale of the summer!. I got here just before 8:00 am and I was already placed in the middle of the sale. My pigeons didn't sell well. I couldn't get them sold on Craigslist either so I guess I was the only one that liked that breed. So its proably a good thing that I sold All of that breed out. No use keeping something that won't move in the market. But I sold a belgian quail hen with 7 chicks and she did real well . I bought a trio of SQ black cochin bantams and a pair of self bule belgians. They are beautiful too!. And I came home with a little extra in the pocket book so I guess I did okay.
They had some shetland sheep there that were very good quality. And they only sold for 35-40 dollars each! I was just sick,I want some so bad. But Dw says no place to put them. I suggested the backyard,I mean hey!But no go. Pigs brought 35-40 for 50-60 pound feeders(I want some of them too!) Bull calves brought 50.
Good hens were still in the 7-9 dollar range, fancy bantams 10-15-each. Ducks were down but there were no topknots like I was looking for.
But it was a great day and enjyed all the bird and people watching!Lol. (Theres some strange ones of bothe in Tn?KY!Lol

Wow thanks for the info, I think I may have found it here at spencer feed, Guy told me he was out but would have some in about 2 weeks. Is this your neighbor? I was so excited to have found it here! I'll go there for supplies now. What are you feeding your flock?
