Quenston,
It would be wonderful if we could get your wife interested in BYC but if we do, you are going to need to change your signature line or she is going to raise a knot on your head!

Prague? A poultry show??? I know the OKC State fair is on the same day, but I didn't know there was a poultry show too?!!

Prague Auction

It's actually an exotic animal auction. They have chickens there too. From what I have read, they start it on Friday (trading day) and then have the auction for what's left on Saturday. I think they have it every other month??? I know there is one on Nov 28 & 29. So far, I haven't been able to find out for sure if there is one in between now and Nov be it seems like there may be. If anyone knows, please share!

The September Ensign exotic animal auction in Prague is Sept 18 and 19 ~ the weekend before POOPS

There will be a Blanchard poultry auction the day of POOPS but we intend to devote all of Saturday to POOPS since there will be exciting things going on all day there.

I got the evening off!!!

I was supposed to work today, but they are remodeling the building. I can't get to my office so I decided to take the day off.

My DH is a sucker. He knew that I wanted white guineas and Atwoods got them in finally. Locally all they usually have are pearl.

But today he went and got me 4 white and 4 lavender guinea keets.

They are so cute. But what in the world am I going to do? I have 19 baby chicks, now 8 baby keets, 28 keets due to hatch this weekend, and 42 duck eggs cooking. I think I am in over my head now.

Today is my FIL's birthday, so we are having a family dinner at my house tonight. I have babies in my kitchen! It is the only place I have to put them. Hope they don't spoil anyone's appetite.

YES!!!!! We intend to bring quite a few, along with several mille fluer d'uccle and other young bantam birds too. I only intend to keep a few birds back for myself for breeding and then sell the rest. Hopefully I will keep the rest of the best birds to sell at POOPS.

I also intend to bring a lot of other pullets & some nice young roosters ... several varieties of marans, a few turkens & maybe even a frizzle turken, lots of turkey poults, guinea keets and whatever eggs are laid the week before.

For some strange reason, as if I didn't have enough birds already, I bought 100 bantam chicks a month ago from Ideal.

I'll probably have some of those available too, but will probably need a bantam expert there to identify some of the breeds.

Gerald will be driving his big 'ol green military truck to POOPS and I'm not sure if I want to put the poor birds thru the torture of riding in the back of it though

I'm guessing the intent of the Fletcher auction folks is to go head to head with Cement. They could have met in, say, Walters and would have drawn a whole new crowd as far south as Texas.

The whole thing intrigues me, and I'm wondering if there is something underlying the whole scheduling thing that we aren't privy to. I heard about the possibility of this auction quite a while back, way before it was a real deal, and wondered about it even then. Maybe I should have asked.

I'm not particularly wed to either auction, being new and all, and will attend whichever one seems to be the best run with the best stuff.

Unless my sensei disapproves, of course.

OK....back....we can talk about the weather (we got about 3"
between our sprinkles and everyone else around us got 2+
inches of rain), or we can talk about POOPS, or we can talk
about chickens.............But Na-Na doesn't want to talk about
TOMATOES anymore !!!!!!!!!!! Gees............... And, get this....
Pa-Pa came in, after I asked him to check it, and said that it was
WAY TOO HOT !!! I doubled back and checked it and couldn't
figure out what he was talking about..... Then, asked him
"which spoon did you check it with?".....LOL I had laid out a
soup spoon for checking it.....he had picked up the teaspoon that
was laying by the sink that I had seeded the jalapenos with......
LOL So, the Picante Sauce is OK.....LOL Now back to the plum
and pluot jam tomorrow morning.

Stimpy - that is a total hoot and have copied it.

Just another reminder - If your Junior BYC'ers are involved in
your local shows, county shows, etc....whether they've already
been, or are planning to go this fall.....whatever kind of
critters..... give me a holler (PM)..... I'll post a list in the morning
of the ones that I know about, but don't want to leave anyone
out. I will need to know by Tuesday after Labor Day......

Big Q - Haven't you told her yet?.....There is a 10-minute limit
on feeling like a stranger !!!!!! Happened to a bunch of us back
in April.........LOL

Have a good one !
