I justwatched the channel 25 video of the missing pet story. The city official is incorrect in saying that cougars are endangered. I think the wildlife department has even been doing studies to see if there are enough to warrant a season.
The are definatly not endangered. I believe you can shoot them if they are endangering livestock. I know that I believe I can shoot them if they are endangering my livestock.

Hate to tell you Tuttle people, but... There's a family of cougars that usually roam the creek in my area, I'm sure they make it up your way. There's supposedly a family of yellows, and one black one. But if it got in someone's house and got a Yorkie, I seriously doubt it was a big ole cougar.

Carla - I would think that a German Shepherd could take a Coyote.

Whirlwind - So sorry to hear you were in the hospital.

And I'm sorry to hear about your chicken loss. Females just get crazy when they have those pregnancy hormones goin on. lol

Quenston - I hear you on the cougar bit. Last year they were killing calves, got one of ours. If its takin out a calf, it could easily take one of us if it got the desire.

Monty - I didn't think the cougars around here were endangered either. Our county's policy is 'If you, your family, or your livestock feel threatened, you have the right to protect them.' I said that SO many times as a dispatcher.

Bobcats are the reason I took a Hiatis from my chickens in 1999, and resumed 2 yrs later. They just kept wiping me out 2 at a time.

Well I found that out the hard way, it is throbbing now but I am going to be ok I think! I am just trying to figure out how it happened I didnt think that it was ever going to stop bleeding I am on blood thinners and a asprin a day so it bled quite heavy but it freaked my wife out lol!!!

I had a hankerchief in my overalls and it was covered my kids thought that it was neat and my wife dang near passed out lol I have some good pain killers so the pain isnt so bad, life goes on and things have to get done!!!
