Me too, I always take the bands off. If they are stuck in the flesh I would cut them off as close as posible with wire cutters and the stuck part always fell out later. Most just slip right out. Wish our Atwoods here had EE. I looked at 2 diferent stores. No EE.

Thinking about ordering the EE 25 pullet special from MPC. Don't need near that many.

ANYBODY WANT SOME EE CHICKS IN OKC AREA??????

Interesting because mine said they were not. He said that pertained to what we could find running around in the wild...which kinda irritates me cuz the whole pheasant thing doesn't fit cuz they ain't native but then again....

stupid thing posted before I was ready

If they are not a native bird to Oklahoma or been put in as a established bird you do not need any of the permits. if you are using them to train your dog on you have to have a shoot to kill permit. if they are native to Oklahoma you need to have records and bands bill of sale all that stuff

Whats up Okes? How is life? It's warm and pretty here today.

I have been running my legs off with chickens. Yesterday I tore the coop apart and scraped and disinfected. Some folks still have the snarkies. Seems to be limited to banties and BBS orps. I think that is wierd, but not complaining. Then some have it and some don't. Mike thinks it's the change in the weather and the new hay pile. It definately is dusty out there. My head was clogged all night after being out there. You might say I had the snarkies!! Anyways I discontinued the meds and tried VetRX on beaks and under wings. Now they all hate me. LOL... Also doing vitamins and pumpkins... whatever makes it, makes it....whatever doesn't, doesn't....

I have been dealing with my mom this week. Dachs was thinking about you and sent up some prayers your way. Last month I took her to the eye doctor. They found a small hemmorhage behind her right eye. He wants to see her every month for 4 months then every 3 months after that to take a picture and test her eyes. Her GP said twice should be fine. They eye doctor had a meltdown and said that her doctor didn't know what he was talking about and schedule the appointments. My sister's hubby who is an internist agreed with the GP that at her age it's not uncommon, and if it was OK after a month she should be fine. Medicare only pays for 2 visits so I have to cough up the 200.00 bucks a month for the rest of them. Then I get a bill from my credit card company and they have raised my payment 250.00 a month.

...I don't know what I am going ot do about that. We have never been late or anything. I don't know how they can do that when we are locked into a rate. Mike says he is going to call them and complain.... I feel like I am being choked to death...slowly....My mom gets 50.00 a month for expendatures and her cigarettes run me 18.00 a month over that. I can't get her to understand that she only has that little amount of money. She wants me to get her glasses...which the eye doctor advised against....

It always come is groups....Oh well.

Hope everyone on here is doing good....

I had an EE fall over dead yesterday....that was weird. It was fine one minute and dead the next.... I hate having all these problems with the hens...I wonder what I'm doing wrong....?

Ok ordered 25 chicks.

I think it varies by state (or county?). In the gamebirds section of this site there is a great article on quail with a list of ordinances.

SELLER
I don't know why you are disappointed. I have no problem with hatching these out. I have shipped to several BYC members and they have adorable chicks to show for it. I have a brooder full of these tiny guys. They are smaller birds so they won't have the bigger harder shell like a barred rock or any other standard breed.

Am I wrong to have taken this as being slightly rude? Because I think it was.

I don't know how rude (or not rude) the reply was

Hatching eggs is such a risky business anyway.... I would wait, and if you do not get a good hatch, contact the seller again.

thanks and so far so good...
Now old mama never left the area around the hen house... Had one bum eye.... She NEVER ever wanted to sleep outside like some of the others that hide in the trees that slip by... Now Im guessing that she went missing during the day.. so I took a hike threw the trees(twisted oaks and nasty stickers) that are on the outside of the grass edge... I found a trail of black feathers... Followed them until their were no more. No body... Some 5 to 10 feet away did find a hole that my stupid dog tryed to dig in as his head snapped back and forth when he sniffed. Could this be the night killer and would it have gotton brave to come out during the day or was I getting closer to that sniffing neighbors dog ? No hawaks right now they moved on for summer and like I said they all get locked down tight by 7 PM and never let out if we are gone for the full day....
