Too bad our creeks don't run SW. 5 inches fell west of Kingfisher last night with another 5+ expected this evening. We got about 1/10th here at the house 9 miles East.

People in town are starting to put stuff up high.

Well gotta feed birds and do other farm type things. Everyone have a wonderful day!

I have posted all of the follow-up post as they pertain to certain areas. We are coming into the home stretch ( 14 days ) so I am going to ask all members who are planning to attend POOPS to read over all the post and inform the the appropriate people of your intentions and contribute where they can, the entire success of this event depends on it.

It has come to my attention that we are lacking in several areas, Food contributions is a big concern please keep in mind that as of today we have 111 people who plan to attend, and as you can see from the food list that we are lacking in contributions here. If we cannot get enough food we will obviously only be able to have 1 mid day meal, the plan is still for 2 meals. According to the attendance list there are allot of missing contributors, some may choose to bring things at the last minute but we cannot plan effectively that way. Sooner & TJ's Na-Na are heading up the menu area please contact either of them with your welcomed contribution and quantity's so they can get a good idea of what we will have and need come game day.

T-shirt orders are another area that we thought would have more responses to, we have a deadline for ordering and that time is here I think Sunday the 13th of Sept is it. we initially wanted to have extra shirts available for sale on the day of the event this will not happen due to lack of orders, we wanted to but cannot absorb the cost of unsold shirts.

The auction areas seems to be doing well and we will have a payout system worked out very soon.

Raffles ( 2 ) seem to also be coming along but we feel that a few more items are still needed for it to be a big hit.

Static displays : we have 4-5 displays planned and they will be very good, if you have a special area that you feel you are very good at and could be of benefit to our poultry community please feel free to set one up.

I would like to personally thank all of those who are working so hard to make this POOPS event a truly fantastic endeavor, these type events take a tremendous amount of work that is not easy to see, and are sometimes not easy to get them to come together effortlessly. I am willing to take full responsibility & flack and once again ask our wonderful Okies community to please help and step up to the plate to make this an event the entire BYC can be proud of.

POOPS is around the corner - okay, maybe a couple of corners, but it's coming!

We have several short entertainment acts scheduled to keep things moving - and yes, you will be involved (perhaps even if you don't know it). Here's a hint about a couple of the activities.

Be tuning up your singing voice as we have a group song planned - it's a folk song about a sly red predator that goes out one chilly night to raid someone's poultry pen...

Does anyone know the Chicken Dance?

We have one skit that we need about 12 volunteers for - it's not hard and you don't have to act like a goon (but you can if you want to). I will PM some of you this weekend to see if you'd like to participate. This is a skit that Luvs2bememaw/Donna has done with great success several times before at church gatherings, etc., and it promises to be great fun. (So if you see a PM from me, don't be afraid!)

Hi all. Concrats to Grace, Dandelion and Bigokie on your show results. Good job. I just now got our chickens back home.

My grandson Joey won Best of Show for the Jr. division with his RIR pullet.

My grandaughter Patience won Best of Show in Open division with her RIR pullet.

Have to leave now to help clean up the chicken barn.

Hey ,guess everyone is heading out to the auctions. Good luck, hope you find lots of bargains!

I spent the day at an auction,Dropped off my birds at one sale and then went to another. The one I went to is so far away that by the time I get there my birds would not sell till 4 or5 so I left them at the local cow barn sale. They did pretty good. I found a grown pair of golden neck d'occlesa and decided I was going to buy them no matter the cost.

Well I made it to $13 each and finally back out!

I had bought some button quail just a minute before the the Goldens came thru so I wasn't for sure I would have enough on me to get them all payed for.(dummy me,forgot to take a check!)

Ended up I could have. Now I'm regretting it!.
