I have exactly the same thing going on right now, Quail and chickens eggs in all at once my quail are due today and tomorrow chickens a few days later. I see a problem with humidity control levels, but then again I am also trying my hand at this dry hatch theroy which should have in my thinking a minumal effect on the staggered hatch. what do you think??.

Thanks for the laugh Monty!

I just think you are all brave to be hatching this late. I don't have time to build more houses ect to keep them in!

Did I mention that I don't like cold weather.

Andi, I have used the same one without a turner. Basically you can take everything you read and when it comes right down to it there is no 100% tip that is going to help. There are too many things that vary from place to place. The first time I hatched all I had was the instructions from the box and something I had pulled off the internet.....never candled them or anything, just turned them 3x a day. I think that was my best hatch! LOL. Good luck on getting things cleared up in your flock and on hatching out some new ones!

Your not asking me for an answer are you? See D !
My question is why are the quail hatching three days early?
I don't think it is humidity. If anything maybe my bator is running a little hot. It is pegged dead on 100 degrees.

My next problem:

If I am supposed to have brooders for all of the hatchlings to live in, why then am I sitting here talking to you?

I wonder if this would be a good time to post that I have spoke with so many peeps on here that I can't remember how many birds I have commited myself too...........Feel free to let me know......

Think I will take your D: Carah's an idiot.

I think a lot depends on how the eggs were handled before they reached you. If they were in very warm conditions, it is possible incubation had actually started before you put them in your 'bator.

Several people I know, including I, have had this situation. No way for you to know ahead of time, however.

Yeah, but he said in an interview about 6 months ago that tho he was raised christian, Tina Turner had converted him to buddhism a few years ago. I got the impression that he'd left christianity completely.

-Stimp-

There is only one God...and it ain't Buddah....

Buddha isn't a god. One can be an atheist Buddhist, an agnostic Buddhist, a Christian Buddhist (like my son), a Buddhist Buddhist (meaning a religious Buddhist), etc.

In the end, it doesn't matter. Only God knows the heart of man, and the only One qualified to judge such matters. Perhaps we should just let Him do His job.

Besides, I don't see what any of this has to do with raising chickens in Oklahoma. Perhaps it is best we keep our theological opinions to ourselves so as not to get this thread locked. That would be a real shame.

TJ's Nana, I would like to know the name of the book that was at the spring POOPS that showed the different breeds or a good suggestion of one to get. Anyone that happens to answer, I want something with alot of pictures.......
