Big blowout on Saturday come on by. You have only been gone a couple of years. We have grown a bit. Did you ever win your battle to keep chickens in the city?

We're still fighting it. It wasn't going so well for me; I kept getting other random violations during the times I was vocal about it, even after the chickens were rehomed.

The OK Gazette just did another article about it here: http://www.okgazette.com/Default.aspx?p=12776&a=4699

I
set up a new community last night for urban chickens in OKC (OKCchickens.com) to try and pull people together. Hopefully we'll get something passed one of these days. :-/

I see how big BYC is now. How crazy is that? I'm going to try to make it out on Saturday, but how will I leave without any chickies?

That is an excellent article that was in the Gazette. Is Shauna Struby going to post it to the Oklahoma Sustainability Network list serve?

You sound like Teach when he was trying to get his last class passed. Of course, he wasn't offering us many topics to choose from and certainly none that could be researched.

Are you going to write about the people who survived it, the effect on the economy, where people who left Oklahoma during that time went, the cause of the dust bowl and the environmental steps that have been taken to try and restore the topsoil that was lost during that time.....

I am SO close to finishing college!

I am reading 'The Worst Hard Time', and I have to write 7-8 pages about the themes in the book... Its history, not a novel, so I have a hard time tryin to pick out themes...

I wouldn't mind it so much, if I didn't have to write papers like these for ALL of my classes!

Cammie : There are many summers when I think the dust bowl is still going on, after living here for 25 yrs and watching the climate & seasons closely it is amazing that you can really see how it developed and progressed throughout the south central Plain states. I allways thought of how interesting it was, and the strength folks had to stay and live in that time.

Al, Except for last Saturday when I was out of town, I manage to at least lurk and read all the posts each day. I have been off pretty early in the evening the past two days - in bed and sound asleep before 9 pm. This getting older stuff sure isn't for sissies.
