Let me look in the closet tomorrow, What I have is definatly not pretty but it will still work. You would have to turn the eggs by hand too as I don't have any spare turners.
dachsunds-have a safe/fun trip and think of a poor lost Okie once maybe. Sounds like you're doing Afton, good luck. I've got some EE's with beards and muffs with interesting color. Actually some are olive eggers supposedly but I think that I ended up all 3 roos.
One is barred like a cuckoo maran and the other 2 are black with gold hackles and a random white patch or 2. I just wish that I had a hen!

You're so sweet! I enjoyed turning the eggs with this batch... I'm pretty darned quick iffn I do say so myself (in my best Okie accent
).
The old guys would not turn an egg for the first four days of incubation. The thought was that this was the time the veins were devoloping and an egg that slipped while being turned could damage the veins.

I learn something new from you all the time. How interesting. It makes sense, except that the hen turns them constantly when she is on the nest.
Good morning Okies, I see the tail lights of the cars going into Tinker. Time for me to finish feeding and get to work myself. (I am trying to get to work before most everyone else, just to see what it feels like. I am familiar with the feeling of leaving after most everyone else since I hae been doing "that" for more than 20 years.
Been at work about a half hour now. I think I need to severely curtail my night owl tendencies and catch up on some sleep! However, I don't see that happening anytime soon
Good morning everyone... Finally got caught up on posts from yesterday evening. On that note. Q - you are very brave getting on here by yourself, without Al as back up. The ladies might start picking on you again. LOL
faerielady - I am sorry to here about your hatch. Hopefully the next batch will go good and then you willl be completely hooked.

I've got five more in the coop right now. They hatched the day after POOPS. They are really cute. I've even got one that is crested!!! You know you want 'em. Come get 'em.
Edited to add pic.
Of course they've grown a bit since this was taken.

I need a duck, a big 'ol mean owl took one of my wife's two ducks a few nights ago. But I want to wait and see if the one we have is a boy or a girl.
Today is day #19 for my 47 eggs bantam hatch. I've been playing happy hatching music for them on the piano, nothing yet.
And today is 24 weeks old for my three oldest hens... no eggs yet, I think they are a little lazy.
