All kinds my husband runs a feed lot. Most of them are steers or bulls. So I ain't gonna try to milk them.

The few cows we have in the pasture are wild and I have no plans on trying to catch them daily to milk them. I keep trying to talk my husband to gt me a Jersey cow to bring home. But we have no where to put it here because we live in town in a rented house. I grew up with one as a pet. I loved it.

If these blue's start laying after about 2 weeks ill save you eggs (I think they only just started so there not consistent yet) ill save you and your girl some eggs to hatch out or if you dont have an incubator ill hatch them out for you. They where free ranging before I got them though penned up a couple days before so if they did lay right now they may not be pure.

Gosh thanks!!! I would rather wait till about Feb if that's okay with you. I really really really don't want babies in the house again with no where for them to go. The one's Madison won at POOPS are in the "brooder" in my feed building. I had forgoten how stinky they can get in no time!!

I've had babies in the house since August and they don't smell bad. Plenty of dust but no stink.

Cool, Well when I go to the store, I will check for the washing soda. If I find some, I can buy some for ya, and we can meet somewhere the next time your in town if ya want.

I would love to me up with you & city both, maybe we can have coffee or a coke somewhere.....I will post the next time I am coming that way! Don't worry about buying any for right now incase it is a couple of weeks before I get back. Soccer is killing me right now.

How do you keep them from stinking. I clean it in the morning and it is a mess by evening.

Sounds good to me. I do not recall that stuff costing much, but no matter. I remember that I could buy everything to make several batches for less than ten dollars. However, that was last years prices too.

I just employ the DLM in the brooder. I use the pine pellets from Atwoods. I keep the water cleaned daily and stir the litter evry couple of days. If they make a mess with their water, I take the wet stuff out and replace it. I also use this same method in my quail cage and my small coop for the teenagers. The small coop is nothing but a 6x6 brooder building complete with heat lamps. I there, I use a rubber dish inside for water and a duck pool. I have pellets on one half and hay on the other. I put the water on the hay because it is cheaper and easier. The hay is next to the door and easy to rake out into the wheelbarrow. I don't use DE or Stall-Dri because I can't find it here.
