Actually, it has been two months. Just decided to go in a different direction is all. I'll be keeping a couple, though. Decided I want one or two of each breed that I have, just for variety.

There's a lady on Craigslist selling Welsummer chicks. I like the look of Welsummers. I don't have any coop space... J still has to build the coops that I already need... a replacement coop for the one I've got... it's old/falling apart and my three pullets deserve a better place to live with part of it off the ground... and he's building a second coop for the batch I just put in, and a THIRD coop for the silkies that will go in after this batch hatches.

I really don't want to tell him I need a 4th coop. He might try to have me committed.

at 1/4 cup per load it will give you roughly 64 loads... as far as the actual price to make the batch its hard to be exact considering where I pick up the ingredients could be a different price for someone else... Sorry I couldnt give an exact answer...

I think when it comes to anything like this people look for different things as to why they buy or make the product... We have well water so my big thing is keeping the clothes looking somewhat good with out dingy... Plus my kids and hubby have sensitive skin and if I were to buy the special detergents in the stores with out all the excess chemicals costs me alot for the small amount of loads it yields. Plus I wanna be able to at least pronounce the ingredients on the list with out going cross eyed.. HA HA HA

I use my gmail email account to send out the reminders... I'll have one set of reminders go to one email address, and another set to my work email address. If that doesn't remind me, then I don't know what will.

I didn't know gmail had the ability to set a calendar and reminders. I am still trying to figure out whether gmail will allow me to "sort" by something other than the date, for those emails I don't put into a folder. I have several gmail accounts and like most things about it - particularly its accessibility from any computer. I can't do that with my primary internet email address. Of course, I do wish there were a way to both access gmail anywhere and also store the files on my computer, so I could access emails at times when I am not connected to the internet.

When I log into gmail, there's a set of "links" in the upper left hand side... one is a calendar function. After you set a date, go to fill in the details and on the right hand side it says "invite guests". Put any alternate email addresses in that box, and it'll send the invitations to the event to the guest emails at the same time it sends your reminder (and you can change when you want reminders sent).

Gmail allows sorting into folders now... but I haven't been able to sort emails in my inbox by anything other than date. I really DO wish they'd make a thread function... that way all my BYC emails would go to a certain folder instead of with everything else in my inbox!

Okay. It's official. I'm a happy camper.

DW went on her solo yardsale flight this morning, since we couldn't butcher this morning because dummy husband didn't think till the last minute to borrow a propane stove from buddy Al in order to heat the scalder. So processing day was put off until tomorrow.

And here is what she came home with...

I kissed her right on the lips. It was like Christmas early.

The little stove on the left perfectly holds my specially purchased metal trash can for my monster turkeys, the one on the right is perfect for chickens just like it is.

She got the whole deal for $15. It's best I didn't go. I don't exactly have what is called a poker face. We would have ended up paying 75 bucks for it, and I would have done it gladly. I've been looking for these for months, ever since Al brought his to the place to help me process my birds.

She is officially the Champion Yard Saler of All Time. I told her just for that I will buy her two hotdogs at Fletcher auction tonight.

So, Al, I won't be needing that stove after all. It would still be nice to see you at Fletcher, though.
