Sorry to all with the sads because of no sun - I get the same thing. Turning up Pat Benatar, AC/DC or Allman Brothers Whipping Post and singing and dancing with yourself in the bathroom mirror with a hairbrush microphone is the cure.

My daughter asked if we could name one of the MFCs "Blizzard". I said sure... if I can name that one Tornado and the other one Cyclone. She was all for it.

Of course, I would have the child who wanted to name a bird after a natural disaster... and of course I would be the parent who sat and *wrote down* at LEAST 13 more kinds of natural disasters...

Afterwards, I told J that I needed at LEAST 13 more chickens, so I can finish out my list.

Anytime someone comes around my office to do a "lighting audit" I threaten them with grave consequences if they try to reduce the lighting in my office. I have a huge window at my back, but during the winter I don't get enough light from it and need the overhead lighting to keep from turning into a "cries all the time" person. Hang in there.

Yep, Mille Fleur Cochins. I have 2 pullets and a cockerel from TimK in Tuttle, and I have another trio coming in a couple weeks.

Then I'm done with acquisitions of ALL birds for a while... *shhhh. I might just be still hatching, if these next two batches make it*. Only the MFCs are going to have NDs as names... the rest of them are going to be named after stars/constellations/galaxies.

Bantams. I'd give my right leg to be able to get ahold of standards... I love standards. However, finding a buff columbian standard cochin is practically impossible, I've looked high and low for a while before committing to the bantams. I'd need a buff X columbian standard cochin, and cross it with a black mottled standard cochin. That would give the start I'd need. If I could FIND those three birds separately or crossed (like a buff columbian bantam cochin is found... rare, but findable), I'd be good to go.

*sigh* Want in one hand, crap in the other, see which one fills up first is an old saying my dad used to tell me when I got stuck on the things I wanted instead of what is available.
