Sooner : You guys are so lucky to have that processor near you, from what I heard and read it sounds well worth it and he even sells day olds. Wow what a great deal.

Loud storms came here around 4:30, off and on since. Got a weather alert that we were under a tornado watch at 2:00 am! Too bad I didn't get it til 5:00... Hubby was the one worried about hail, and he still doesn't know it stormed. I swear a train could blow through the house and he'd never know it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Yes very lucky. AT this point the day olds aren't of interest unless I decide to raise some for the freezer & if I did it would have to work out to cheaper than I could walk in an buy his. I don't think I can grow them cheaper than he sells them.

Since we were talking about heat tapes I want to add this for anyone considering using them: I'm sure most of you know this but it will make me feel better:

use only those tapes that have been approved by Underwriters' Laboratories (UL)

Never wrap a heat tape in layers or allow it to overlap itself even the tiniest bit. That's the surest way to start a fire.

Check the tape often throughout the winter. If it shows any evidence of melting, discoloration, or charring, disconnect the tape immediately and replace it. Whenever the outside temperature rises above freezing, unplug the heat tape until it is absolutely necessary to use it again. Do not count on thermostats that are built into some heat tapes; they often do not work.

Good luck with that! Oh and careful with the cleanin-the-gun trick. It back fired on my dad, that's how I ended up with this guy. Pretty sure the first time I brought him home, they spent more time in the garage comparing collections than with me. Lol

Yes true indeed. He is definitly working on the volume way to make a profit, I applaud the guy for doing it and giving folks in your neck of the woods a shot at a decent value.

I am planning to get down there to get a couple of birds from him! Eulaine & Bill say they are wonderful! I figure it will now be my place to stock up on them toss in the freezer and the grocery store won't have to worry about me buying chicken!
