I have Jersey black giants and other standard size chickens; I also have a few bantams.

1/4cc for bantams and 1/2cc for large fowl, I give mine orally on a little piece of bread.

The Ag dept. is supposed to have a state vet for inspection at every critter auction. But when there are a few to cover in one area they usually just go to the largest one like OKC West or the Stockyards. There are way too few people to cover a lot of auctions.

The Ivomec I have is injectible...but I give it orally? I just want to be sure...

Aw, that remind's me of the Charlie Brown Christmas special.

I have to say, it is so nice to finally get to talk to my chicken family. I've had to spend WAY too much time with the inlaws lately. Lol

Will, from someone that was on the losing end of sick birds, they are trying to help. If we got healthy birds we have nothing to worry about. If they sick then something needs done. Dee met with me Wed. to take another dead turkey from that pen to be tested and one of my live ones out of that pen. Don said you letting him have a live one? I said yes, they dead one a week anyway. Only three left of forty. I am sick of it. It was hard to do but it got to end somewhere. I stayed in the truck with the window rolled up so he wouldn't get sick. But I know they trying to help me not hurt me. They don't like some of the rules but they really are just doing there job.

The Ag dept. is a great resource for information and you pay for it any way so why not make use of it? If needed they will cull a flock but I would much rather loose my flock then I would infect birds of people that I know or take one to a show and infect a line that was many years in the making.
