Have a friend that shot a skunk in his yard in Stillwater while he was going to school. He is just a little country. Sheriff showed up asked what the heck he thought he was doing. Friend told him. Sheriff asked well then where is the skunk thinking he could catch him in a lie. Friend pointed to said skunk lying in the yard. Guy said oh...well...you can't do that. Friend said oh...ok.

Wish I was going to Blanchard...going home tomorrow...

The reporter and cameramen came yesterday. Stayed for about 2 1/2 hours, for a four minute piece. They were really nice. I did bad but the turkeys did great. Piece to air next week I think. I told them about you guys and Carla. Carla they going to call you about your hatching.
But I blow it and said OKC, sorry. I was a nerves wreck. They loved my farm and my birds. The camera guy as of four months ago was a cameramen in Washing DC and he had a ball with the turkeys. Even had to have his picture taken with them. They bought a turkey,too.
I did hold one of the bigger toms and I showed them how to pick one up just like you guys showed me.

Aurora was better yesterday but fever came back high last night. She sure sleeping a lot. Is that good or bad?

For the person that was upset about the OKie group, My family moved to Ca when I was three but I live right in the middle of family that been here since before statehood. My Mom and Dad were born here before statehood. If you check there are more people that left Ok for Ca moving back everyday. My grandmother was 3/4 Cherokee and was one of the first home extension agent for the BIA, never lived more then 25 miles of where she was born. She did her job on horse back first then by car later. She tie the presser cooker to the saddle horn and travel to different churchs and homes. She dead at 98 and she called herself a Okie and I am a Okie too. And we may not be as high a class in your book but in my book this bunch of OKIE can't be beat, they are great people. May be over the years Okies have gain some class more then some others have.

Morning Okies : Sipping some Joe and trying to get motovated. Teach how you doing this morning buddy, let me know how much tin your thinking about. I just spoke to Charley/ AKA Pepper 48-48 he is at the Cornish Nationals poultry show in Lincoln NE. He said he was somewhat disapointed in that there weren't as many birds as he had thought there would be, but still was happy to be there.
I will be heading to Cement this afternoon if anybody else is interested.

Good Morning Everybody!!!! I bet I can guess where most folks are right now....babying their flock. We're winterizing and making new pens out of the mud hopefully for this lovely rain coming. I can't wait to get started on the new pens so there shouldn't be this problem.

I had no idea it could take so long and so much junk when someone dies.

The government requires so much crud just to prove that you're not worth 3 million dollars. LOL I just wish the same rules would apply to the people that do have that kind of money such as the Willie Nelsons, movie stars, congressmen, etc that don't pay their taxes and just leave folks alone like mine that was just a simple coal mining/farming family that worked hard for every dollar they had. We can't do anything until all that paperwork passes through so we figure we're going to be here for the winter so we need to button down the hatch here.

Enough soap box...

Monty...do you have an extra Welsummer roo? I got 2 hens yesterday and they surely need a buddy to go with them. Let me know. Thanks

AL - thought you had some netting for fly areas...I don't need any tin. Darn...I can't member how big my garden is...like 30'x20' or so. Wanting to do a netting that has a center height of like 10-12' and then the sides will go up to like 8' want to be able to walk around easy! Although I do plan on having tin around the bottom...this dude is gonna be dog proof! Even if I don't have dogs!

Everything else is fine. We are just sitting together ignoring each other on our computers. Comes a point when you have enough family time! I am gonna go home tomorrow. Gotta see my boys and do school stuff.

they used to have a bunch of poultry
Jim told me at one time they had 52 pens of birds
they are in their mid 80's and no longer raise birds
Velma teaches our adult Sunday School class
she had knee surgery so I took her place teaching the class for the last 3 weeks
she made it to the main service last week
I know she loves to teach
I compair my teaching to hers
she spreads a vast smorgasboaard before you and I hand out a TV dinner
