I'm glad you told us about honey. It definitely helps us. Hopefully Cammie will start eating it & will start feeling better soon!

Everyone out there thinking of honey at the grocery store .... check the label for the country of origin. Quite a bit of the honey out there is from China. Local honey is the best!!!!

If Al goes, it probably won't be until the poultry auction starts. I think this is the one that Al and Buster tease each other about, since there is a consignment sale for 2 hours before the poultry and farm items begin selling.

Ironically, the honey from China is now being laundered through other countries, primarily Asian countries. I heard a speaker a few weeks ago and he showed how in the past few years, exports of honey from China have declined and exports of honey from some Asian contries have increased - way above the level of honey they report as producing.

We don't know what pesticides are permitted to be used in some countries, but we do know that bees bring pesticides back to the hive. Also, read the back label and make certain there isn't any corn syrup in the jar. You want pure honey - preferably raw. Raw honey never spoils - if it gets solid, it can be re-liquified by applying some heat - either put the jar in a pan with some water on top of the stove, or microwave it - no more than 45 seconds at a time - stirring it and then microwaving again for up to 45 seconds - until it is thin and liquid again. Of course, honey that is slightly thick won't fall off your bisquit as quickly as honey that is totally liquid.

Ha ha, nope it wasn't me! I really think it must have been my dear granddaughter that I caught it from. She was sneezing & coughing & runny nose when I babysat her last week. Hopefully that is what I caught, because she was fine the next day.

How are you feeling today? I hope you don't have the snarkies.

Am back from my Mom's dinner....It was fun!! She was glad to see Mikey...she always gets stuck with me and rarely sees him...she is very attached to him....

I am so excited!! My Light Brahma hen...one of the ones that almost died from the worm invasion....wrecked her leg....I don't know how. But I read a post on here somewhere that said to rest them in a cage until they heal up...Really looks like an injury... So tonight after I got home I got the cage set up in the coop and all...I went to pull her off the roost and stick her in there and was shocked!!!! She has gained so much weight!!! Before she was like a bag of feathers...thin and light and unthrifty.....Now....She's like....HUGE!!!!! I was thinking no wonder she messed up her leg.....getting on and off roost...She's not fat....Just...SOLID!!!!

That is excellent information! Thanks!

I've noticed that when eating out at severl fast food places that have packets of honey ... usually the first ingredient is corn syrup.

Oh, and we have some honey that has gone solid & yes, it does go back to liquid when heated. I was afraid to try the microwave to heat it but I might try that next.
