I'm not really looking for a new place...but who knows? Monty is trying to get me to move because he's tired of hearing my whine about not having room to get more chickens. But complaining is one of the few things I'm really good at! I don't have any $$, so unless your friend wants to trade and move into a historic home near downtown, I'm probably not his buyer.

Okay, now that all the disclaimers are out there - 75 north or south of Tulsa?

86th street N. and Harvard. It is Sperry... I am not trying to sell it for him but just thought of you.

I use almost the same recipe. Except I can't use the honey because I'm diabetic and I don't like lemons, but other than those two things ... it's the same formula. Good stuff!

Add some slivered almonds and chew them well after heating. Almonds have a tiny bit of cyanide in them, which is medicinal in tiny doses.

Hey ya know if you are looking for a place to live and have all ya chickens ye want, I have a place on our place its about 8' X 16'... We call it the COOP and you will have plenty of room mates that will keep ya warm and feed ya breakfast.

Yeah, that is kind of jarring for people. Marine, boxer, and reference librarian don't seem to quite jibe. You should have seen the looks I would get when it was children's librarian. Or worse, professional puppeteer!

But I know how you feel. I was equally surprised at Monty. He seems such a gentle soul to be a boxer. But then, some of the gentlest people I have ever met were also some of the best fighters.

Buster - I was excited about the class until I read the assignments. I have to write two 4-6 page papers, single spaced, analyzing the comic... Its a comic, come on!

Gary - The gang I'm in still does that! Snappin fingers and all!

City - Did you say yucky to Grandpa's Cough Syrup? Its better than any bottled thing you can buy at a pharmacy!

Grace,

Cross her with a black roo = F1 offspring that are black

Back cross a black F1 male to his mottled mother= BC1 offspring which will be black or they will be black and mottled.

Ok I wanna be a brat for a minute...

I've been going through all of my old stuff that my mom brought over, and I found this painting I did in high school. I know, not chickens, but still kind of Okie.

Artsy - I had a dream that I was in the panhandle and took home a Purple Finch that liked me. Lol. I don't know if I could do the whole bottle feeding thing with a wild bird. I tried with a kitten one time, it was heartbreaking. sad Hadn't heard the Mozart story before, that is cute. smile
Great pictures! I've been wanting to paint chickens, haven't tried yet. How long have you been doing it?? And what do you charge? I should just have you do one for me. Lol

yes it is heartbreaking at times- as one bird rehabber told me, sometimes we are just meant to be a safe haven for them as they die- to not be afraid...a hospice.. some years are worse than others- this last year was tough-

hit mid forties and decided to back to school, lost my dad and decided to change degrees to art since he loved my art- anyway, technically been drawing every since i was little- remember in first grade reading a book called 'Panda's Paintbox' and remember thinking i'll do that some day...just took me a long time... so now i am living my dream- painting and being on a farm...LOL!! here is my website, robingortonfineart.com . i sell small art cards on ebay for $5 - 10 a piece, depends on size as to price..
smile.png
have a friend who does people portraits say I need to charge at least $500 a piece- that may be fine if folks have that kind of money- she's in NY, can't see folks in this part of the country paying that much- even though it takes alot of time...ok, enough rambling!

"Failure is not an option. It comes bundled with Windows." LOL

thats why i use a macintosh....no risk of virus' and awesome graphics...

Hey Robin

I think its great you have some beautiful pieces shown on your website! I had a good friend who did the human kind of art like you do. He did one of my son from a photo graph... it had turned out wonderful.

have you tried having a Etsy shop online? out side of Ebay... since your drawings are all your own?
