Hey Wayne! How's the weather over there - I think you're sharing the Arctic Blast, too aren't you?
Shavon...keep that skillet handy - I'm sure you'll need to show it to Teach again sometime!
When I first signed up and started reading a lot of posts on this BYC site, in my head I was all "those smilies are dumb" and "the use of smilies is a sign of immaturity" and "I'll never use those stupid smilies."
Now I'm a smilie-using freak like everyone else. And like P&B said the other night, now I sometimes wish I could use them in conversations...oh, how the mighty have fallen!
What a fun day even in spite of the arctic blast....
Have a glass of good Texas sweet red wine (Texas has to be good for something)....AC/DC on the stereo (dang they sound good!!) And some Jack Daniels Mesquite marinaded chicken in the ShowTime Rotisserie...(Smells fine!! Mike is going to freak when he gets home! I am going to be on the good list!!) Watching hens scratch out back (Not exactly sane, are they??)
Evenin everyone hope everyone is staying warm!! How is everyones birds doing? Mine are doing great sitting in the sun in the lawn chair!! They dont seem to mind it so much, but they sure dont take there time getting in the coop at night tho!!
Was putting two more bags of shavings in the coop for insulation (wrong kind, they gave me shavings and I wanted the medium chip but oh well, it'll work in a pinch, and it's a pinch... couldn't clean out the old poop, it was FROZEN to the ground and roosting boards). Well, the one I think is a light brown leghorn *freaked* and flew past me out of the coop... where my daughter's stupid dog chased it behind the shed where I couldn't get it. I went inside and waited for it to pop it's head out from behind the shed, and it came bebopping out about 10 minutes later. I bolted outside, ended up having to chase it into a dead bush, where it pecked me. Then I grabbed him by his cute little neck and drug him out because my thumb was gushing blood and I didn't want the blood to freeze to my skin. Carried him over to the coop, opened the door and dropped him in. He promptly dust bathed himself and got all comfy in the shavings that caused all this havoc in the first place.
Guess I should go clean my thumb before I bleed all over the keyboard.
