Its 9.40 milo is 6.10 an corn 7.20 a 100lbs or some wer around that . Calvin said scratch grain was like 10 or 11 for 50lb bag in Spencer.

I don't remember exactly but I paid around $7 or $8 for a 50lb bag of scratch from Tractor and supply in Stillwater. If you buy in bulk, which only takes 20 bags and it can be a mix of different types of feed, they give you a 10% discount too. I have bought 5 bags of starter and 10 bags of layer and 10 bags of scratch and got the bulk discount of 10%. I think they would have also included bags of dog food as part of the 20 too or rabbit food or what have you, but I am not for certain on that. I will have to ask next time. Oh speaking of rabbit food, I have a friend who feeds her chickens rabbit food, has anybody else heard of this.

yeah it has so many different things that are in chicken feed anyway, plus mostly alfalfa, woulnt recommend for sole diet but if they cant get to fresh grass and they will eat it cant see it hurting anything as long as it isnt medicated. some GameFowl enthusiasts use to use it or alfalfa pellets in certain feed mixes for their keeps, most of the time it was softened like you would do dog food.just depends on what works. but some preferred the rabbit pellet, it contained other grains.

Hello all. How is everyone doing today. It is just plain yucky outside today. The fog rolled in right before dawn and hung around until lunch. The clouds never parted all day long. It us now thundering and there have been a couple of lightning strikes.

I was thinking of heading to the auction this weekend, but I have company coming over Saturday evening. So once again, I will not be able to make it. One of the days, I will get to go.

Shidalgo sorry bout your back problems.

Teach maybe the missus would go for a Music City campout! Lots to see and do. Maybe you could haul home some "foriegn" (as in not from Okla.!lol) birds:thumbsup

Hey don't even make fun of luve2 be about teacher and student relations! Thats rather a delicate topic here! Had several teachers in jail the last year for it. Tn teachers seem to have about as much morals as Tn troopers and politicans! They make the Ark hillbilles we all have heard about seem like angels!lol:he

Q how far are you from Tulsa?

City hope sick ones are doing better.Be careful down there remember thats where people like Teach come from! He!he!

Guthrie ,may be too far away for you guys, but that is where we have started going. We buy all of our feed in bulk. It was about $150 for 1000 pounds of scratch. I'd have to check on the last reciept for the laying ration but we were pleased with it. Its all grains, instead of pellets or mash. And no animal bi-products. Actually looked to good to be feeding cickens!

They will change the rations to make it the way you want it.

I checked my last reciept - $143.96 for Layer, that's 1003 lbs. and $134.26 for Scratch, thats 978 lbs. You can get it it a large white bag they will use a forklift to put it on the back of your truck, or sometimes we take our feed truck that has a creeper feeder on the back. We'll fill it and set a bag on the back

I haven't finished reading all the posts today, so if you have already answered this I apologize, but what is the name of the feed store in Guthrie? It would be closer than Bristow, which is where we get our best deal on feed.

Wow. Those are some nice prices. I wonder if there is anything like that closer to the Lawton area.

ETA
Okay, I see Mike mentions Carnegie. That is close enough if I can get great prices like that. Mike, any other details you want to share about all of that? Like where do I go at the Co-op and what do I ask for? And are the grains local or imported from other states?

Have you checked with Al to see where he gets his feed? I seem to recall him mentioning a really good price for layer feed about a month ago.
