Congrats on the foster child joining your family, Jeannie - that is a blessed person and I'll keep you all in my prayers.

I have never raised Jersey Giants, but I hear they are a friendly breed. One of the greatest complaints about them is that they eat LOTS of feed, are late developers and aren't very good in the egg production department. I don't know how they are as meat birds, although I've heard of people crossing them with cornish to create a bird for eating. I don't know how those crosses have fared.

Big Q : as Bruce Willis said to AJ in the movie Armagedon, as he arrived in the second vehicle, darn glad to see ya Boy !!!!!! hehehehehe.

Here I am holding a BG cockerel that is roughly 6 or so months old that I bought at Shawnee a couple of years ago. Very winter hardy and fare through the summers well. The show stock is larger then hatchery stock but both are usually good quality. Oh btw, he topped the scales at 13 pounds.
